Burnt Offerings by Laurell K. Hamilton (1998, Paperback, Reissue)

I really can't say much more than I have said about the previous Anita Blake novels! Hamilton has done it yet again. If you have started this series, don't stop now!!!

Anita ia a great heroine. Bold, brash , powerful as all get out. Yet, her insecurities and faults let you really get a grasp on her.

After finishing this book, I am so looking forward to the next several books!

Warning, read this book only if you are into gore, vampires, and fires! Also if you've read all the books leading up to it. Can read as a seperate entity but, like any series, makes so much more sense. Otherwise a great read!

I love this series and was not disappointed with this book. Anita does it all. Now, she's got a boyfriend and a peeved off ex boyfriend. All of these must get along and find out why the council is visiting them. The council does nothing but cause havoc. They take over the circus of the damned and get everyone nearly killed. Anita comes to the rescue and helps not only the vampires but the were-animals out. She finds out that she has the power of one of the were-animals she killed and she can call her. In this book she learns that she can control Rena and use her to help the weres. It was awesome how A mere mortal, like Anita gets in there and kicks the councils butt. Worth the read.

The book was very good, all the good monsters, the only thing I do not like about these books, are the long explanations of the clothes she is wearing or her vampire friends who really cares, not me, and I am a woman.
