Created: 03/01/09
Call of Duty: World at War once again delivers sophisticated, class-based, online multiplayer action that has made the series famous. New additions include vehicle combat with tanks, and Call of Duty: World at War rounds out the multiplayer experience with improved features, such as persistent stats, player rankings, upgradeable weapons, squad-based gameplay, customized classes, enhanced perks, and more.

I bought this game, being a fan and owning the other Call of Duty titles. Graphics and storyline were good, probably the best of all the COD games. However, the biggest disappointment for me was the shortness of the solo campaign. When I came to the end, my initial thought was 'This is it?!' All of the previous titles would have you as all three of the allies, this one was just two. Also, these titles lack the freeform play of the new generation of video games such as Fallout 3 and Crysis, where you are not 'channelled' down a path and can pretty much go anywhere and do anything. I think that the creators of COD need to jump on this bandwagon.

Call of Duty: World at War (Collector's Edition)
Created: 08/06/10
This is the most challenging of the COD warfare games. This is the second copy of the game that I own since my first one stopped working; I found the collector's edition here on eBay for $20 less than I paid for the original version so I replaced mine with the collector's to see what the difference may be. It comes in a nice metal box with a small replica canteen, but the game itself is the same. But it looks nice on the shelf so unless you save a lot for a regular version I'd go with the collector's edition for the nicer packaging.

Great Game. Have my own server host for multi player internet game.
always populated since the day it was out, from 1.1 patch to 1.3 patch.
Family always play CoD 1, United Offensive, CoD2, CoD4 but best of them all is CoD5.

Love the graphics and action. Decided to buy this game to get my feet wet for Modern Warfare 2. No regrets and can't wait for the next one.
