With its finger-snapping big band arrangements, the album has its share of homage to Frank and Dino, both obvious cornerstones of Buble's music. But this isn't merely a retro exercise; the tunes, the production, and the overall feel are decidedly contemporary.Stylistically adventurous versions of songs by Eric Clapton, Leonard Cohen, and Willie Nelson keep things lively, while "Everything," a Buble original, is one of the album's highlights. Still, cuts like the lead-off track ("The Best Is Yet to Come") and the old chestnut "I've Got the World on a String" will give listeners looking for some elegant, back-in-the-day pizzazz exactly that.

Editorial Reviews
[Buble] suggests the caramel-smooth creaminess of Steve Lawrence, the sensual warmth of Vic Damone, the swingin' bravura of Dean Martin and the boyish showmanship of Wayne Newton.
JazzTimes

3 stars out of 5 -- This CD is best when Buble wraps himself around the brass and reeds of a straight-up big band....John Hamilton and David Foster also provide a few high spots.

Buble manages another wonderful CD

Created: 26/07/10
Michael Buble has brought the crooning era to a younger audience. And through his interpretations, fantastic artists like Fitzgerald, Sinatra, and Garland are being rediscovered by my generation.
In Call Me Irresponsible Buble covers such classics as Call Me Irresponsible, Always on my Mind, The Best is Yet to Come,Me and Mrs.Jones, and I've got The World on the String. And his hit Everything is not enderaingly catchy. While not quite as good as his more recent CD, Crazy Love, Call Me Irresponsible is still a darn good purchase if I do say so myself...which I just did.

Fantastic jazzy CD

Created: 09/05/08
This CD blends Buble's smooth, effortless vocals with classic favorites like "I got the World on a String". Buble is a powerhouse singer and proves this with this CD. Listen for the newer compositions Buble wrote himself- less of a jazzy feel, but somehow still at home on the recording. This CD will make you want to pick up a partner and dance!

I'm The Irresponsible One

Created: 11/02/08
I'm absolutely in love with Michael Buble, and this album has made me feel all kinds of irresponsible!

Despite the fact that Michael has made himself mostly known for doing covers of classic hits, and for his song "Home", there are actually two original songs on this album. You might've heard "Everything" on the radio (and it's my dream wedding song) and then there's the song "Lost". Both of these were written by the Buble himself, and they're just beautiful.

His voice continues to make me melt, and the lyrics to the original songs are so heartwarming and beautiful, you can't help falling in love with him all over again.

I don't know how he's going to top himself on the next one!

Another Buble Favorite!

Created: 05/07/07
Michael's incredible voice is just as smooth as always, While the overall CD isn't as good as his "It's Time" It is still very good and grows on you. My favorites on the new CD are "Me and Mrs. Jones", "Lost", "That's Life", and "Dream".
