    About the Manufacturer
The story of Callaway Golf begins with the company’s founder and namesake Ely Callaway, a passionate businessman and well known figure in the game of Golf. The company got its start when Mr. Callaway bought a small wedge and putter company called “Hickory Stick USA”, which later became “Callaway Hickory Stick USA” and eventually “Callaway Golf”. From the beginning the company was committed to producing quality product for golfers of all skill levels. Mr. Callaway called it “Demonstrably Superior and Pleasingly Different” (DPSD) golf clubs. Though the company has grown exponentially since it’s modest start in 1982 (when Mr.Callaway would deliver product himself from the back of his Cadillac) the commitment to innovation and quality remains. Now a publicly traded company, Callaway is one of the most visible names in golf with a product line that encompasses the full spectrum of equipment and accessories including drivers, irons, wedges, putters and balls. Callaway golf also owns Top-Flite Golf Company, Odyssey Putters, Ben Hogan and Strata Brands.

    Callaway Tour Authentic X-Prototype Irons

    Created: 05/06/10
These Callaway irons are perhaps the best looking set of irons I have ever seen. Great top line that inspires confidence, the weight is distributed differently through the set each iron is optimized. Smooth as peanut butter on well struck shots yet still forgiving on mishits. I never thought I would buy a set of Callaway irons but they made some impressive forged clubs here.

I won several tournaments at my local club and ended up with pro shop credit. I had recently reshafted an older set of Ben Hogan Apex and was totally happy with them. I had just shot a 73 in the tournament to win.(10 strokes better than handicap so net 63) Just for the fun of it I took this set of used TA Proto/Xforged Combo set out to try on the course. I came back and made an offer on these clubs.
They are so smooth it is unbelievable. They really provide feed back and mishits were not as punishing as I thought they would be. I was surprised that these are basically the same clubs as I was using, Cally bought and absorbed Hogan, but they were 5 years newer. They played so much better.
All in all this is the best iron I have played. I have played Hogan and Titleist for the past 10 years. These beat them all. It does not fix my swing flaws but for the first time in my life I want to go out on the range and hit balls rather than play a round. You only get to hit an iron about once a hole and these make me want to hit more.

Gorgeous clubs. A players blade that is top of the milk! The perfect compliment is the rifle stepped shafts and the white GPride grips. A Bo Derek **********

The irons feel very pure. The shafts are an elegant combination with the heads to bring down ball flight.

Great looking clubs, very forgiving for a blade.Even when you catch one a little skinny it works out for you.I would say, these clubs are 1 to 1 1/2 clubs longer, especially in the mid irons. These clubs are beauties.
