Callaway X-22 = STRAIGHT
Created: 07/10/09
What can be said about these irons? They go STRAIGHT. That's about all you can say about them. They are perfect for the player seeking super game improvement irons. The handicapper of 20 or higher... These clubs have extreme offset and large area - so even mis-hits go pretty far.
Do not buy these irons if you are looking to shape your shots, hit knock down shots, or be able to properly bump-and-run a 7-iron with extreme feel. These irons go straight... I'm about a 12 handicap and I actually bought these irons on E-bay for a friend because he doesn't have an E-bay account. I prefer to play "players irons" such as Titleist blades, Mizuno, or TP series... These Callaway irons are VERY forgiving and will give you a high ball flight. The uni-flex shafts are very nice and cover a wide variety of swing speeds. I recommend playing them in steel.

Callaway for Valentines Day
Created: 05/05/10
I bought these Callaway X-22 irons for my wife for Valentines Day. She played golf at the Phoenician Resort and they rented her a set of these clubs. She is a great player but these clubs only enhanced her game. They offer lots of control and are very forgiving. She hit long and loved them so what is a husband to do? These were a better hit than roses and chocolate would have been and last much longer.

Awesome clubs for mid-handicap golfer

Excellent clubs, great distance and very forgiving, will work for anyone from beginner to low handicap golfers. I bought a used set originally and liked them so much that I later bought a new set, short irons are very crisp and longer irons forgiving, just what us mid handicappers are looking for.

Great Deal - Saved a good couple of hundred dollars!

Great clubs. Love them. Very forgiving and a pleasure to play with. Takes very little getting used to if you have been hitting with steel clubs. They feel almost like the same weight as my steel clubs but are made of graphite. The ball literally flies when you hit it.
The guy at sports authority told me not to get graphite regular flex as it is meant for seniors but he recommended the graphite stiff flex as the head is heavier than the normal graphite ones. But he mentioned that this set - not including the "3" iron was for over $900 and I got these including the "3" iron for under $450, which is a steal.
I believe that these clubs will surely improve my overall game.

Callaway X22 irons

I am very happy with my purchase of these clubs. I went with the 5-pw because I have a set of hybrids that I like and am more comfortable hitting them than a low iron (3 or 4) and I have a set of Cleveland cg14 zip wedges that I love so there was no need for me to order a set that came with an approach and sand. The set I got are in the uniflex shaft which is good for most swing speeds but I personally think that they are more on the stiff end of uniflex than the regular end. They are a very forgiving set on miss hits but when you hit it good you know it immediately. There are few things in life are a fullfilling as a well struck golf ball. I recommend these clubs to anyone who wants to spend a little more to see their scores drop. Hey if Rocco Mediate is willing to put them in his bag on tour to do battle with the Tigers and Leftys of the world then they are certainly good enough to go in mine around the local course.
