Mack Daddy Wedge AWESOME!
Created: 28/03/11
This is the best wedge that I have played.
Soft forged feel, super spin grooves. Why play forged irons and then have cast wedges??
C-Grind allows play fanned wide open.
I play 3 Callaway X-Forged wedges 52, 56 & 60; they are bent 2* strong to reduce the bounce. Net lofts are 50, 54 & 58 degrees that I want.
I had the Vintage finish, but the rust was more distraction to me that she shine of chrome. I feel no difference in the play with either finish. Both put "Mack Daddy" spin on even short pitches.
I have tried most of the current wedges on the market and these are my favorite.

Callaway X-Forged White Chrome Wedge Golf Club

I have a full set of Callaway wedges (52, 54, 56, 58, 60 and 64 degrees) and love them. I switch the 3 wedges in my bag based on the length of the course, type of rough, etc. The Mack Daddy groves are excellent. They even allow me to get spin on short pitches. I would also recommend the C-grind bounce on any clubs that offer it. The C-grind allows the club to work effectively on both thick and tight lies.
The only problem I've had is that the grooves are very sharp. So sharp, they shred the cover on the ball. This can get expensive if you play a soft cover ball like ProV's. The problem lessens as the grooves get a little worn.

the yes-spin zone

This wedge certainly lives up to its reputation of the Mack Daddy grooves ability to put spin on the ball. I believe I lost 5-10 yards on distance compared to the Cleveland 56 degree, but this club definitely allows you to control the stopping power on the greens. I play in the desert of Las Vegas where our greens are for the most part very hard. This club does a good job inspite of our local conditions.
I hit a 110 shot the other day and the ball landed within a foot of my buddies ball, backspun, collided with his ball, jumped over it and came back another 10 yards on a flat surface!
If there is a downside, (other than distance) it does remove the paint on the cover of my Pro V. This is not a deterant rather just a note. The "C" grind allows the better player more options from tight to fluffy lies and is extremely versatile.

Great feel, weighting and head shape as well as the Mack Daddy grooves make this one of the best wedges on the market today. Low bounce and tour grind provides great flexibility around the green.
