With a 0.31x magnification, this Canon IS lens helps you to clearly focus and click life size photos of small objects. Image stabilization helps to capture sharp images using this 55 mm lens even when there are accidental jerks. With a construction of 12 elements in 10 groups and 7 diaphragm blades, the Canon EF-S F/4 controls the performance of the lens for providing superior quality images. i will write a review once i return from my photography trip
after april 6th,2012. from my limited use of the lens sofar i like the "image stabilizer" feature because many of my photos are taken from a distance. this feature of the lens allows me to get greater clarity with the distant photos. the one thing i was looking for in this lens was the steel attachment rim not the plastic which i have on this lens.

) Blurred image on a long focus.Plastic bayonet. Good lens for the money.The lens can be used as a complement to the set with 18-50 as well

) I am a person who takes pictures every day. I love this lens for the distances. It has a clarity that is amazing. I took some photos of the Grand Teton that make you feel like you were in a plane flying around it. There are times that when I am taking photos that the images seem so close that you feel like you can reach out and touch them.
I bought this lens because of the value, it was a lot less than paying for a 55mm-300mm.

If you use this lens in daylight...no problem at all! Quick focus, good quality, excellent value for what you pay!
