Canon EOS Rebel Ti / 300V 35mm SLR Film Camera with 28-90mm lens Kit

Before I begin, I don't consider myself a Pro. I may be a seasoned amateur but that's where I am.

First thing that happened to me when I opened the box for this item: Is this digital? Of course the answer is No. The reason that lead me to believe it is the screen at the back of it. It displays all the informations that you need to check when operating the camera. On most models, these infos are on the top of the camera and after using it for a month now, I must wonder why they didn't thought about putting that screen there before. The Rebel Ti is a refined 35mm camera. It's so advanced compared to the other Rebel 35mm models that it actually feels more like a digital slr then a 35 mm camera. Small click and silent engine operation while taking a shot make this model stands out in my opinion. On top of that add a metal EF lens mount unlike all other Rebel 35mm, the ability to use a wireless remote, 7 focus points and the (in my opinion) excellent canon system that prevent you from destroying the pictures you've taken in case the back cover opens accidentally that make this camera a pretty solid package. In terms of functionality, it's a mid-range slr.

However, not all is white. I have to say that the camera is built out of plastic and it can feel a bit cheep. I miss the rubberized hand grip that was on the Rebel "G". Also, if you still compare it with the other Rebel 35mm, the camera feels different when you handle it. You need to be open minded with it. I already mentioned the LCD screen on the back instead of the top. Add to that a completely different button layout than from the Rebel "S", "S II" and "G" and you basically need to take your time when using it at first.

Finally, I would definitely recommend this product even if you are a Digital slr user and never used 35mm. If you would like to try film photography just out of curiosity, this is an inexpensive, excellent model that will give you several hours of enjoyment.

I actually own one of these cameras and purchased this one as a gift. This Canon combines the option of setting up the shot however you'd like (ie shutter speed, changing lenses etc) with the simplicity of a PHD (Push Here Dummy) camera. The lenses interchange with my Canon digital EOS as well.

This is got to be one of the best SLR film cameras on the market. It has 7 point infa-red auto focus and takes a great picture every time. You can turn it on to auto and everything is taken care of for you. From the first time amateur user to the professional photographer, it meets all needs. Taking pictures with this camera could not get any easier. You put in a roll of film, it is instantly recognized, auto advance, auto rewind, you name it. All you have to do is partially push the shutter button, it sets everything up and you take your picture. If you don't want to spend $1,000 on a digital SLR, this is the film SLR of choice.

This is a great 35MM camera for someone who likes a point and shoot and also for the person who would like to have full control when needed or desired. The vast number of lenses available for the EOS line of Canon cameras is great, both made be Canon and the many aftermaket lens makers. If you are looking to upgrade from a small point and shoot with no manual settings this camera is a good one to chose.

Great film camera, lots of features and settings. I really like the placement of the buttons around the shutter - very easy access. I have always been a fan of reversed rolling (the film), and this camera does it. When you change film, it loads all of it onto the other reel very quickly and within seconds you are ready to go!
