Canon PIXMA MG8120 All-In-One Inkjet Printer

Teriffic printer. Easy set up (wirelessly). Fine print quality and good software interface. Able to scan both hard copy, slides/negatives at high resolution. Prints are fast and crisp. Scans fast with good original detection.

No fax but can scan directly to PDF for subsequent emailing.

When my PIXMA MX700 died, I researched many different models to replace it. This was the only one I found that got satisfaction ratings around 50%. It was a little pricey, but thankfully I found a "limited edition" one (bronze color) for a good deal less. Set up went very well for someone like me who's not all that computer savvy, but perhaps that was because of my prior experience with Canon printers which I do find more user friendly than some other brands & also without the software compatibility issues some others have. Readiness to print right after being turned on is not a strength of this printer, but that's not a problem for me. I also wish that photo images were clearer---a problem when pictures are incorporated into a document such as my Christmas letter. Otherwise, photo quality is good as is the print quality. Another negative for me is the 6 ink cartridges instead of the 4 my PIXMA model needed, but hopefully the advantages of this machine will make that less of an issue for me over time. I'm happy with my choice of this printer.

This product was easy to set up, the wifi works perfectly on our home network. The printing speed is great, no waiting as soon a you hit print it is there. Picture quality is not as nice compared to a pricier HP or Epson but for the price of the printer, you cant beat it.

This printer really exceeded all my expectations for a color printer in this price range. It is so easy to setup and use. There are several options for ink on ebay, which makes it so affordable to do a lot of color printing.

My wife loves it. My only concern is the cost of ink. Any photo she takes is printed so naturally it sucks up the media. Cost of photo paper is comparable to others sold at Staples.
