    Publisher's Note
Mystery and suspense combine in this first book of an exciting new 4-book series by best-selling author Terri BlackstockThelma and Wayne Owens run a bed and breakfast in Cape Refuge, Georgia. They minister to the seamen on the nearby docks and prisoners just out of nearby jails, holding services in an old warehouse and taking many of the 'down-and-outers' into their home. They have two daughters: the dutiful Morgan who is married to Jonathan, a fisherman, and helps them out at the B & B, and Blair, the still-single town librarian, who would be beautiful if it weren’t for the serious scar on the side of her face. After a heated, public argument with his in-laws, Jonathan discovers Thelma and Wayne murdered in the warehouse where they held their church services. Considered the prime suspect, Jonathan is arrested. Grief-stricken, Morgan and Blair launch their own investigation to help Matthew Cade, the town’s young police chief, find the real killer. Shady characters and a raft of suspects keep the plot twisting and the suspense building as we learn not only who murdered Thelma and Wayne, but also the secrets about their family’s past and the true reason for Blair’s disfigurement.

    another great Blackstock book

    Created: 22/06/06
Book #1 in this series is much like the rest of Terri Blackstock books. Not in the fact that they have the same story lines, far form it, but that they keep glued to the pages. After only discovering this author a few short months ago, I am completely hooked. I would not only recommend this book to others, but the author as well. You won't be disappointed by a single one of her books.

First, this was purchased for our Church library. Quite a few of us enjoy this author and as always she didn't disappoint me. She is an excellent mystery author with good lessons for everyday life in her books that include quotes from the Bible to help the reader understand. Some Christian writers do this better than others and she is one of them that I admire for her lessons that can't help but take you to task. This series is about refuge in Christ and how as his people we can extend this to the ones who need it most.

    Nice and thought provoking

I checked this book out from the Library along with the entire series. Once I started reading this book I could hardly put it down. The author takes you right into the story and your off on the adventure. Terri B. makes the reading a delight by adding Christian thoughts and circumstances that causes you to wonder what you might do in that particular situation. She is able to capture a scene through words that allow you to be there with the characters and experience it with them. This is a very good series for relaxing enjoyment reading.
