Cars (Nintendo GameCube, 2006)

I bought this fame for my 8 year old son for Christmas because the whole family loved the movie. This game is awesome. My son loves racing around, crashing into stuff and changing the look of the cars. It takes a little time to figure out some control features like jumping, but overall easy to use. The graphics and audio are wonderful, eye catching and amusing. My husband stops to watch and gets caught up in it and has been telling his co-workers about how cool it is. I even enjoy playing it with my son. This one was worth every penny.

while these game cube games play on a wii console as well as a gamecube- you have to use the gamecube controllers for it either way. its an excellent game- but the one for a wii system specifically is better because it allows players to use a wii wheel for better driving/ racing simulation. so when shopping on ebay- if you do not have game cube controllers- steer clear of any game listings with game cube in the title as you will have to buy game cube controllers in order to play it.

May favorite feature of the game is that there are several ways to play it. First there is a story mode, that comes in a small kid freindly version or a expanded version. The small version is great for my three year old to play, as he can just drive around and run into stuff. The expanded version is prefered by my older kids. Second there's an arcade version where you can pick the specific mini game...like Tracktor Tippin'. This allows you to pick from a variety of charactors that can be costomized. The favorite at my house is monster truck McQueen with flames. And third is VS, for multi player compatition. I like that it has something for everyone, who all seem to have their own favorite way to play.

Cars (Nintendo Gamecube, 2006)

I rented Cars mainly because my GF wanted to play it. Cars pretty much gave me what I expected for single player story mode, which is actually kind of fun, albeit incredibly short. It's the multi-player portion of the game that really turned me off. The game is incredibly hard to play split screen, and the mini-games are terrible.

Pros:
- Videos are slightly amusing and feature the real actors from the movie Cars
- Story Mode is fun to play, but only once
- Unlockable Characters
- Cow Tipping and Hot Pursuit Mini Games are fun
- Music (Be sure to change the music in options to allow all songs)

Cons:
- Controls are very iffy
- Luigi to the Rescue Mini-game will have you smashing controllers
- Gameplay graphics aren't the greatest
- You run into invisible fences and trees sometimes
- Story mode is far too easy (Opponents suck on last lap... always)
- Commentary in Speedway races gets very annoying
- Unlockable Bonus Art (Why?)
- Unlockable Paint Jobs (Again... Why?)
- During story mode you get to play as 4 cars in a highway chase, only 1 of these cars is unlockable.

I didn't expect much from Cars, and I understand that the game is targeted more towards children. That being said, I don't feel that Cars could keep anyone over the age of 7 entertained for more than a week.

Rent or Buy: Rent it for your child, or yourself. If you must buy it, make sure you get a fair deal. My opinion, not worth more than $15.

This game is fun for kids. They love the little cars,instructions were easy for my 8 year old to read I wish more of the games were like this one cute and alot of fun to play, I even enjoy playing it now
