    Product Information
With the Casio EX-FH20 you can capture an amazing 40 high resolution, 7 megapixels images in one second providing more images to choose from than a DSLR. Get close to the action with the 20 time optical zoom starting at 26 mm wide-angle. A push of a button enables you to shoot high definition 720p video and switch to high speed slow motion video. You can capture in 30-210 fps, 420 fps, and 1,000 fps. At 1,000 fps you can catch movement that you cannot see with the naked eye.

    Expanded Product Features
    • 40 frames per second burst mode
Capture moments with precision you never thought possible. The High Speed EXILIM EX-FH20 can shoot at an incredible 40 frames per second. In burst mode, users can choose how many still images they would like to take per second, between 1 and 40 frames.
    • High-speed movie recording up to 1000 frames per second
The EXILIM EX-FH20 can record high-speed movie footage of motion too fast for the human eye, for ultraslow-motion playback. Users can select a recording speed of 200 fps, 500 fps or 1000 fps. There is also a movie button that lets users quickly start movie recording without first switching from still image mode.
    • 9.1 megapixels resolution/20x optical zoom
No one expects a high-speed camera to have high megapixels or high optical zoom. Well, they were wrong. The EXILIM EX-FH20 has 9.1 million effective pixels and a 20x optical zoom, so users can capture still images or record movies like never before, with high performance and high detail.
    • Prerecord still images
Users can record images not just at the instant they press the shutter button, but before! Continuously recording at up to 40 images per second, a maximum of 40 images can be saved in the camera's own buffer memory even before the shutter button is depressed. Even if users press the shutter a little late, they will still be able to catch that vital moment.
    • Flash continuous shooting
It is possible while using flash to take up to 10 continuous shots at a speed of up to 5 frames per second, so even in low light, no more missed shots. Also, the internal LED light allows high-speed burst shooting at between 10 and 40 frames per second.
    • High-definition movies
The camera features high-definition movie recording capability. Users can record stunning movies at a screen size of 1280 x 720 pixels, at a rate of 30 frames per second.

    Casio EX-FH20 9.1 Megapixels

    Created: 31/10/09
I bought this camera and received it a little while ago. First off I would like to state that I am an amatuer with this type of camera. SO if I state a problem that would appear to be an obvious common occurance then keep that in mind. So far the camera is great. I like all the features and have tried each feature that is available on it. The shutter speed is great and the high speed video is also good. The only thing I did not quite expect is that the high the video frame rate the lower the resolution and the darker the picture. Putting on a color filter does help a little for the brightness. But so far I am unable to film anything indoors in high speed without extremely bright lights. Indoors with just the average 100 watt lights show almost nothing at all in the picture at 1000 frames. The picture is so dark the only thing I have been able to capture at 1000 frames in regular indoor lighting is a lighter lighting. Because that emits light on its own yet it still is pretty dark. As for the still frames I am quite satisfied. There are many customization options. The zoom is also very good and very clear. I would give this overall a 3.5-4 stars. With the only bad part being the unexpected extremely dark high speed video. But seeing as how that is one of the most attractive features of this product 3.5-4 would be my total rating.

An excellent camera with some amazing features. Being my first DSLR, I was very impressed. The camera's high-speed function is incredible, especially at 210 fps, where the video quality is still good. At 420 fps and 1000 fps, the quality drops quite a lot, but its still fun to use. The 20x optical zoom isn't the best (meaning you have to get pretty close to your subject, particularly if you're filming birds) but its the best there is for a high-speed consumer camera. The digital zoom is not a feature you want to use with high-speed filming, as it lowers the quality further, but as long as you just use optical zoom, you should get a clear, zoomed-in shot. HD video is excellent, and the large screen on the back makes shooting easy. Photos are brilliant, and the super macro focus setting is very good. It eats up batteries, so I would use rechargeable AAs. As for memory, it certainly needs a HIGH SPEED SD CARD, (for high-speed movies) or else it will save videos very slowly and will drop in quality after about 20 seconds of filming. Overall, an amazing camera for shooting high-speed movies, with a fairly good zooom, great HD, and that takes awesome pictures.

Casio High Speed EXILIM EX-FH20 9.1 Megapixel

I love the high speed feature and the ease of use. Many cool features and easy to use features. Another feature that is nice is the 40 shot. It takes 40 pics of before and after when you push the button. So you never miss the perfect moment. (you can delete what you don't want to keep or save as many as you like. I also like that it uses sd and sdhc cards of which i have several from previous digital cameras. Nice size view screen. I compared this camera to other cameras in a range from $350 to $1000. Great deal for price. Good zoom and feel/weight.

Pay from $5000 to $10000 for this functionality!

The only reasons I prefer this camera are as follows:
    1. High speed video mode
(A COMPARABLE DEVICE SELLS FOR $5000 FOR JUST THAT PURPOSE!)
    2. Runs on AA Batteries
(A good charger and batteries will last YEARS for CHEAP!)

Now. Understand that I use it mainly for troubleshooting mechanical apparatus much more often than I take photos. Never post anything to YouToob either, so that software may be cool, but I don't need it. And I need it to be read-to-go on "off the shelf" batteries when I need it.
(I carry it in my tool bag!!!)

And occasionally I use it to take photos too, after all, it does that pretty darn good. Does not have a shutter release and all the "pro" stuff, but seriously, it kicks butt for what I do with it.

    I favor ANY device that uses standard batteries 10x more that the flagship (better) device that uses specialty packs, seriously there are three reasons for this if you cannot imagine them for yourself;
1: Every time you grab your camera- do you know if you charged it?
2: If it is DEAD, then you can buy batteries anywhere (try being a tourist with a special pack when in the middle of a tour! Where AA's are everywhere, but your charger is at the hotel!) and
3: I use LOTS of rechargeable batteries, so this is right up my alley- never going to be faced with trying to order a specialty pack after it goes obsolete. If no other reason, it will retain better resale value than devices with depleted batteries and no available outlet for them! (you know who you are!)

If you fix mechanical stuff - this is a handy tool!
(A stroboscope is harder to carry and costs more- and you do not get a "recording" of the problem to show the customer!)
-Now support the AA battery equipment & get a good charger : La Crosse BC700 for example is one of the best chargers, and that is key to getting rechargeable cells to perform properly. (eneloops outperform most alkaline cells, and last forever with a good charger!)

    Everything you've heard is true!

I really like this camera, the picture quality is excellent, and of course, the super slow mo feature gives you a ton of fun possibilities (not to mention you can use the camera not just to goof around, it might be helpful for serious people too haha)! If i had to change one thing, and it is really the ONLY one thing i find "wrong" with the camera is that is powered by 4 AA batteries, BUT, if you have rechargeables (or a cheap 48 pack from a store like i do), you are all set!!
