    While its retro 2D graphics may have off-put some PlayStation gamers at first, anyone owning a 16-bit system can easily appreciate the greatness of Konami's Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. Konami took the side-scrolling idea to its fullest in this title. The game's enormous maps, huge range of weapons, constant enemies, and excellent balance all still puts this squarely on the all-time list, no questions asked. Add to that a memorable soundtrack and you have a gothic masterpiece that will serve as a benchmark for many future 2D action titles.

    A great game already on the PSX and the additions to the sega saturn version make it all the better. Two more area's(4 technically with the inverted castle) and multiple items. Both Alucard and Richter are available from the start along with Maria a character not available in the PSX version.

    A downside is the long loading time on the Saturn version of the game.
