Catwoman (DVD, 2005, Widescreen)

Pitof, Halle Berry, Benjamin Bratt|Theatrical release: 2004 | Rating: PG-13 (MPAA)

Movie synopsis

Patience Philips is a shy, reserved young woman who wants to be an artist but instead is a designer for an advertising company. She is mousy and lacking in self-esteem even when she gets her big break to work on the launch of a major beauty product for her mean-spirited, ruthless boss. But a series of events initiated by a mysterious cat results in her discovering a terrifying secret that leads to her murder. That same cat breathes new life into her, creating a strong, brave woman within her that wrestles with her previous self for control of her mind and body--a body that can now do amazing things.Academy Award winner Halle Berry is captivating as Patience, a female superhero for the 21st century. She is fearless as she seeks revenge on the people who killed her, and she attempts to save the public from the release of a dangerous product. As the Catwoman side of her battles George Hedare (Lambert Wilson) and his wife, Laurel (Sharon Stone), who he has decided is now too old to be the face of his company, the Patience side of her gets involved with hot cop Tom Lone (Benjamin Bratt), who is caught in the middle of her two-sided personality. First-time director Pitof keeps things moving at a fast pace, with quick cuts, sweeping camerawork, and pounding music. Alex Borstein provides comic relief as Patience's best friend, and SIX FEET UNDER's Frances Conroy plays a cat lady who knows the secret history of felines through the ages.

Catwoman dvd :: oh no you didn't

As a long long long time fan of CatWoman herself.. named "Selina Kyle" I have to say this. DoNT watch this film. Please!!!!! All of this film goes against everything the 60 some year old character of CATWOMAN is about or was. Lets put it this way... the character in this film is not Selina Kyle. Stop right there. Lets imagine just for a moment that a Superman came out, and somehow he found out that there were many before him and his name is tom thumb. Huh? Do you think audiences would go and see mr thumb become superman and forget all about CLARK KENT? Or wait.. it is batman oriented right? Um.. no. But.. lets go there all the same. Would you go and see a Batman movie that did not include who batman really is? In other words a Batman that was given the same strength, the same instinct the same type of thinking.. almost.. but WAS not BRUCE WAYNE?? Or lets say it was spiderman.. or green lantern.. or ANY of the comic heros or villains. Or in Selina's case, somewhere in between survivors. Selina Kyle is Catwoman. She has been for 60 some years and the NERVE that the producers in hollywood have to make her into just any woman that is wearing leather and acting like her made me want to scream!! Its not Holly's fault. Maybe they wanted to get a great Eartha Kit type tribute to that sort of Selina Kyle. But remember Eartha Played SELINA KYLE.. no one else. It is completely amazing to me that no one even seemed to NOTICE this about the film. I dont know if it is because audiences crave a woman in leather going about kicking butt.. or if they just dont care. Either way look up the reviews on the movie and you will see many reviewers Yawning. The movie had a great villain in sharon stone.. and even her death was.. ah.. hard to swallow. Yes this catwoman comes out on top, but they leave the door open for any woman anywhere anytime to become a catwoman.. as if it is some kind of thing that comes over them. That is kind of an insult. Batman, spiderman, and superman dont seem particularly balanced and healthy in the mind either if you look at it. lol. But we dont say that their frame of mind and powers can come over any other man and any certain time. We KNOW there is ONE batman. Yes? One superman. One Peter Parker Spiderman. And I KNOW there is ONE Selina Kyle aka Catwoman. This movie should be clawed apart.

Catwoman is worst movie of all time!!

Well maybe not the worst of all time but it's pretty damn close. Why did I buy this movie? Well I'm a huge Batman fan and Halle Berry is hot! Turns out the second reason I bought this movie is really the only reason to watch. Turn the sound off and skip to all the scenes of Halle Berry in her sexy cat costume. Beware Batman fans, this movie has zero connection to Gotham city or the caped crusader. Infact outside of the title this movie really has nothing to do with Catwoman. Don't rent it, don't buy it, don't watch in TV, trust me. This movie is two hours you will be begging to have back. As for Halle Berry being hot, rent Swordfish or Monsters Ball, atleast you get to see something in those flicks.

A genuine piece of movie crap!! I kept waiting for halle berry to get down on the floor and start licking parts of her body that havn't been on film scince monsters ball!! At least then the movie might have been worth a good watch. Halle berry (who is usually one of my favorite actresses) Phoned in her role and apeared to be reading directly from the que cards -- Bratt was his usual self, which isn't a good thing for all movies and sharon stone was absolutly rediculase --- BOTTOM Line - Bad Plot, Bad Scrip and bad acting equals a bad movie, end of story and case is closed...
