) "A Certain Style, the Art of the Plastic Handbag" has long been out of print, but it is the one book every lucite purse collector must have. The gorgeous full-page color photos are spectacular and the collection includes many styles rarely, if ever, found available for sale today. Collectors are holding on to the best bags; if you find one like those in this book to buy you are lucky indeed. One excellent source for lucite and other vintage handbags in superb condition is vintagepursepage . com.
Most other vintage purse books include values which I have always found of little use. Not only do values fluctuate and become outdated quickly, most are not correct to start with. Therefore, I do not find the omission of values from this book to be of any importance whatsoever. People who must rely on books for values are not experienced collectors. But buy this book and you just might get hooked. This bags are indeed sculpture to wear!

this was the first book on the subject of lucite purses and made the lucite purse a desired collectible. great color pictures and a must for the collector of these. most of the purses photographed are quite difficult to locate today and the high end purse has become a challenge to find
