Champions Online (PC, 2009)

Pros:
Amazing stylized graphics and sounds really immerse you in the game, it's awesome.
Really easy to use User Interface, very slick, no need for "mods".
Its a new game so everyone is low level just like you.
Really in depth character generation.
Lots of quests to do.
Respawn rates are great.
Servers dont crash.

CONS:
No instruction manual which is difficult when trying to update or modify your hero. Great forum support though.
Extremely difficult to raise levels past 15 because all damage is done by stats not items. This makes it difficult for guys like me that like to play fantasy MMOs like WOW wear gear is what makes you awesome.

Overall its an awesome game but I would recommend this to someone who likes playing with character stats, etc. I'm really disappointed in the difficulty of character advancement. If Cryptic doesn't fix this, no one will progress past level 15 and in 2 months everyone will move on to something else.

I bought this because I played City of Heroes and City of Villains and enjoyed it. This was made by the same company so I thought it would pretty much be an improved version. The character creation is amazing and you can build them from the ground up really customizing your powers to make something unique. They have already added a new powerset and instance plus they regularly patch it to fix balance issues and bugs. The downside is that because its new there isn't everything to do in game that there is with games like WoW or CoX but that should come with time. There also can be an issue with teaming, its very easy to make a character that can do everything solo so teams are not formed regularly, but that can be fixed by finding a good guild/supergroup.

Overall a fun game that does not have that addictive quality to it. Some people must have that while others avoid it so take that as you will.

I love the endless costume and character design options. I could sit here all day just creating toons! I enjoy the story lines and you feel like your actually accomplishing something. Its easy to use if you play mmo's and easy to learn if you havent. Its also fun to interact with. I have played SWG, Guild wars, and STO and I really enjoy this one as well.

its quite a good game but there are some issues. one of them being that you are
supposed to get a free month of play with purchase of retail game disc. what they
don't tell you is you have to buy a month to get it. this would have really upset me if i didn't buy it on ebay and paid full price...lol, other then that and a few
in game bugs its still a solid title.

Awesome game better than COX, by a super leap come play it. If you like to make custom characters from the start then champion online has it.Character builder has hours of fun making a truly cool character with over thousands of options and details to make your guy or gal, from what he has on his head to the design he has on his cape. The only true downside to this game is that it has only been out for a year so it is still fresh but, if you truly want a game where you can be that superhero you always wanted to be or make one simply from scratch, this game has it!!
