Movie synopsis
Produced by animation legends William Hanna and Joseph Barbera (THE FLINTSTONES, SCOOBY-DOO) this musical feature brings E.B. White's beloved children's novel to life with a wealth of famous voices. Friendly pig Wilbur (Henry Gibson, NASHVILLE) makes a big splash on the county fair circuit after Charlotte (Debbie Reynolds), the gentle spider living over his sty, "spins" his praises in her web. But Wilbur still has painful lessons to learn about the fleeting nature of life and friendship. Screenwriter Earl Hamner, Jr. created the beloved 1970's television series THE WALTONS.

Consideration is being given for the purchase of the new release; however, remakes tend to lose a lot in transition.
Purchase was made for the quality movie and for educational comparison of the old verses the new.

I don't recommend it for children under 4, because Wilbur the pig is afraid to die and the phrase "I don't wanna die!" is repeated several times throughout the movie. If you have concerns about your kid being exposed to such issue, use caution. However, it deals with the cycle of life beautifully through Charlotte the spider.

) My two year old daghter LOVES this movie!!!! We have been having a hard time finding movies that she will watch. Charlottes Web combines her two favorite things, animals and singing!!

This is my favorite story of all time. I have such fond memories of my 3rd gr teacher reading the book to us as she portrayed all the characters with a different voice. I purchased the DVD for my granddaughter who is 2 1/2. We watch it together again and again, and we both love it. The movie/story is timeless.
