Check, Please!: Dating, Mating, & Extricating by Janice Dickinson (2006, Hardcover)

Most people either "get" Janice Dickinson's take on life or they don't. She is upfront, in your face, irreverent...and that's just a start. The good news? People like that can often write very interesting books, the kind often called "guilty pleasures" because you know you're not reading great literature but a book that is simply FUN to read, full of gossip and celebrity chatter.
Her other books, NO Lifeguard on Duty and Everything About Me is Fake were books I loved. But this one is focused on being a Dating Guide and, to be honest, I wanted more gossip about Janice, not just about her dating techniques, such as they were.
Having said that, the photo spread is INCREDIBLE. The lady looks breathtakingly beautiful and the layouts are witty, creative and stunning. I'd buy just about any book she wrote, for those days when I need to escape with a quick read and a glass of wine after a hard day of work, perhaps relaxing on our deck....but if you are going to read one of her books, don't start with this one. She has done better, much better (but DO check out the photo spread).

I know Janice has a reputation as a bitch but I find her to be funny and spot on! This is a great, quick read that hands out some practical advice in between the schtick. Take it in but don't take it too seriously!
