    Product Information
Living in the seemingly peaceful kingdom of Guardia in 1000 A.D., the child Crono was chosen by guardian spirits to save the world from ultimate devastation. Though Doomsday will not happen until the year 1999, the ancient seeds of destruction were planted long ago the the evil LAVOS. Your mission in the world of Chrono Trigger is to travel back and forth through time to change the course of history, and stop LAVOS from succeeding in his dark plan. On your journey, you will battle monsters and meet many helpful people in both the past and the future. Some will become your faithful and powerful companions, while others will give you clues by telling you stories. Pay attention to what they say, and good luck in your adventure.

The PlayStation version of this game was released in North America as part of the Final Fantasy Chronicles package (in Japan, it was released as its own game.) Special features include special animated FMV sequences and a variety of unlockable bonuses.

What sets this game apart from all the other games is it's deep storyline plots. Each Character has an In-dept story development and its own side-quest. This alone makes the game worthwhile. The story is set in the present and moves back and forth through the past and future to destroy an ubiquitous being that lives in all time periods.

Another important part of this game is the way magic spells are used. You can use them as stand alone spells or combine spells with 2 or 3 characters. So, one character can cast Fire, with a second character using a sword dash, resulting in a devastating fire slash attack. Some 3-character Magic require special stones.

But there are downsides to every game, and this one is no exception. Even though I loved the gameplay, storyline and graphics of this game, I feel that some magic attacks look a lot alike. Also, you will develop a certain preference for certain characters, but you play with 3 main characters, and have a tendency to over-develop them. In return, you can't really play with the other characters you've unlocked since your main characters are stronger.

Another downside is that SquareSoft released a Playstation version of the game, which only featured special animated cut scenes. No effort was placed on improving graphics, or adding extra spells. I feel that this would have been an added value to this game, and would have made it worth an extra buck.

Lastly, though some effort was placed on creating a variety of creatures, bosses and minions, a lot of the time, the Developers simply changed the color of the creatures and renamed them. I know it saves time on game developing, but I can't stand fighting the same enemies all the time, with simply different colors and attributes.

With all that said, I think that this is an excellent game to purchase. The story is immersive, complete and colorful. Re-playability of the game is possible and interesting with a NEW GAME PLUS option, so you can complete all the side quests with magic and items acquired in the last game.I hope you'll enjoy all 42 hours of estimated completion time.
