Movie synopsis

Hilary Duff plays Sam, a good-hearted Cinderella stuck in the fairy-tale-gone-wrong atmosphere of modern-day Los Angeles. Enslaved by an evil, BOTOX-junky step-mom (a hilarious Jennifer Coolidge) Sam is forced to scrub floors at her late father's diner, thus earning the eternal disdain of the snooty popular kids in school. Luckily she has a friend in artsy nerd Carter (Dan Byrd), and a text-message romance with some poetic schoolmate she's never met. She also has a fairy godmother in the sweet diner manager (Regina King), who helps Sam get decked out and disguised for the Halloween dance. At the dance, she discovers her prince is one of the popular kids, Austin Ames (Chad Michael Murray). Happily ever after seems like a long shot, though, because Austin is burdened by pressures at school and at home, and Sam can't shake her "diner girl" inferiority complex. This fairy tale comes with plenty of wit, style, and heart. It moves along too fast to be sappy, and broadly razzes the shallowness of popular kids, their stupid parents, and whiny siblings in a way that should balm the unhealed wounds of anyone who's ever been to high school. Byrd makes a winning and somewhat cool nerd, Murray shows princely posture as the tortured poet-quarterback, and Duff firmly establishes herself as a first-rate young actress with luminous major-league screen presence.

A Cinderella Story

Created: 02/01/07
Hilary Duff plays Sam, a modern day Cinderella. Her step-mom makes her wait on her hand and foot. Sam is forced to work at her late father's diner, scrubbing floors and waitressing. Because of her job, the popular teens look down on her. She does have a friend Carter who is a nerd, and she also has a mystery text-messaging romance with a teen she's never met. Her fairy godmother is a sweet diner manager who helps Sam pick out a disguising outfit for the Halloween dance. At the dance, Sam discovers that her mystery price charming is one of the popular teens, Austin Ames. It goes in style of the Cinderella story from there.

I really enjoyed it. It was one of Hilary Duff's best performances yet.

The cast was also well chosen, it includes: Hilary Duff, Chad Michael Murray, and Jennifer Coolidge.

Very Cute Movie

This is such a cute movie! It brings the Cinderella story to modern times and does it in a great way! Starring Hilary Duff, Chad Michael Murray, and Dan Byrd. Sam (Hilary Duff) is a girl down on her luck. After losing her father her step mother made Sam work in the family diner. Wanting really to be a normal teenager Sam gets a chance to go to the school dance where the popular boy (who they had been talking via chat rooms but didn't know each others real names) falls for her. Her luck goes from bad to worse but dont worry, a great ending and a Happily Ever After kinda story. A must see movie! Hilary Duff does a great job and so do all the other actors!

A Cinderella Story

This was an excellent movie. Hilary Duff plays Sam, a good-hearted teenager who had dreams of being a princess and living in a Castle. But all that comes to an end as this teenager loses her father who just got married to an evil step mother. This teenager had it tough as she had to scrub floors, go to school and work and wait on her evil step mother.
The movie has a wonderful twist to it. It shows you that dreams can come true and things can work out. This movie has a great happy ending.
I would recommend this movie to any teenager, mother or family, I love this movie because it does show you that the world can change from Riches to rags in a matter of seconds, Just like real life times. Life is a mystery and you never knows what life is going to bring you. You just have to work hard for what you want in life. dreams can come true or then again not come true?

A great Family movie

Created: 02/09/06
My girls love this movie. They have watched it several times and do not get tired of it. Hillary Duff plays as Sam. She plays the role of the modern Cinderella. She has high hopes and dreams for her life. Her performance is great in this movie. It is a mixture of the traditional Cinderella Story with a twist of modern day times. It has a great story line and shows some people can be selfish and ungreatful. It is an excellent family movie, especially for young girls. I would definetly recommend this moive!

Great Family Movie

Created: 30/11/09
This is a great family movie about a young girl (Sam) who plays a role of a moddern cinderella. She was raised by a single father, who was unseperable with her. They did everything together. He then married a stuck up woman so that Sam would have a mother, that came with two prissy, annoying daughters. The father dies during an earthquake leaving her to wait on her step mother and step sisters so that she would pay off Sam's college tuition. The story goes to show that she meets a guy online who she falls in love with and realizes its this really popular guy and captain of the football team. She is scared to confront him, but does so at the homecoming danced masked. The story goes on and you have to see it for yourself its really good. I dont regret buying it.
