Remembering the Titans Clash
Created: 03/09/09
This film is a real joy to watch; pure imaginative escapicism in the styles of the old Sinbad and Hercules movies from the past. The story centers around Persus, son of Zeus and his many challenges rising from jealous Hera and numerous monsters along the way.
Harry Hamlin keeps it grounded as a young niave hero, Burguess Meredith plays the mentor role and we are treated to a calidescope of mythical creatures along the way. We meet the Kraken, Pegasus, oracles, giant scorpions, Medusa and witness Persus rise to one challenge after another thrown at him. It has a love story of sorts for the girls and some duels for the fellas all thrown in for a brisk paced movie.
***Warning to kids the Medusa scene could freak them out a bit, but shouldn't be too bad; Parents should watch for mild nudity near the beginning of a nursing mother and towards the end as the princess baths before her trip to see the Kraken, but otherwise this film should entertain safely.
The script runs along not taking itself to seriously or to lightly; striking a nice balance similiar to the Hercules/Xena tv shows of the 90s for comparison.
The action scenes seem dated now, but with some imagination and a forgiving eye towards the stop motion techniques used it delievers a fun mindless romp with Greek mythology. It is an underated gem that should be checked out before dismissing as it offers a lot more than one would give it credit for.

bcoffer23 Movie review - Clash of the Titans

This is a fun movie loosely based on Greek Mythology. The gods of Mount Olympus routinely interfere with human affairs due to their whims, grudges with each other and love affairs with human women. In this movie Perseus, played by Harry Hamlin, has to go on a quest to save the life of a princess, who happens to be his future wife. He encounters giant animals, witches, a mechanical golden plated owl, a half man/half demon, Pegasus, a flying horse, Medusa, The Kraken and other challenges.

"Classic Fantasy!"

Harry Hamlin, Laurence Olivier, and more star in this 1981 fantasy.
A hero finds love and battles mythic monsters. I've always liked
this film and Ray Harryhausen did an amazing job with the myths.
I'm glad to have this on dvd that has decent picture and sound
plus a couple neat extras. I recommend this classic fantasy.

This movie is pure entertainment with lots of excitement, Greek Mythology, scenes of a snake headed woman (Madussa,) Half Man Dragons Creatures from the oceans deepest portals, and of course, everything in between. Quite entertaining movie, one that I would reccomend this to all who have never seen Clash of the Titans. What sets this film apart is that is a truly unique film that has stood the test of time for the fantasy adventure lovers. Rated this one 5 Stars *****

Clash of the Titans is timeless

Clash of the Titans is a classic and it was delivered to me in perfect condition. This movie brings back so many memories from childhood and I enjoyed every second of it. I love Greek mythology and this story it is among the great stories in greek history. Perseus, Zeus' son, saves the kingdom of Argos and the beautiful Andromeda. This heroic tale of love, courage and bravery is the best. And yes it is WAYYY better than the remake!!!
