Classic Blue-Justin Hayward with Mike Batt ( CD 1989)

I for one loved this CD. Perhaps it would appeal more to the female audience. I was familiar with only 7 out of the 13 songs. My favorite would be "Vincent" which was just beautiful, so much feeling and tenderness. I also liked "Railway Hotel" which is a waltzy and very catchable tune. I believe Justin put his heart and soul in each of the songs and sung them well. The more I play this CD, the more I love it. It works for me.

Classic Blue - Justin Hayward

I bought this for Forever Autumn, thinking that since I am a classical music fan, I'd enjoy it, but on that song, I had to go back and find the original version, as when it was redone, the tight harmonies I fell in love with were absent or blended into near nonexistence. If I'd heard this one first, without that haunting harmony, I'd have probably liked it just fine, but not fixated on the song the way I did.
Many classical pieces have and play up that tight harmonic structure, so I'm not quite sure what happened here. A musicologist could probably explain it, but I can just miss it... a mourn its loss.
Overall, the album is very smooth.
