This is a really nice club, very easy to hit stop shots

This is a must try if you want to play a good short game. The CG10 Satin Chrome finish is very easy to use, and produces "soft touch" green shots, and is basically exactly the same as the Black Pearl model, but it doesn't block the sun as much as the slightly more expensive black pearl finish, but it doesn't produce any less of a terrific shot!!!

I tried this club by borrowing it off our pro, and thats what initially got me interested in trying this, as I was comparing it with the Callaway V Forged series. To be honest, I couldn't decide, I wanted to keep both models, but they are simply both awesome.

The feel of the Cleveland CG10 club is fantastic, and its weighted a little heavier than most wedges, but if you try the Low Bounce model on tight lies its sooo good, that you can get the ball to stop dead on the second bounce, almost like clock work. The back spin was not as good as the Callaway equivalent that I tried, but it definately was a lot smoother feeling, in that it sort of jumps off the head, almost like its not even hitting the ball because it hits so pure that you don't notice it, until its sitting up snuggled next to the hole, or in it.

The shafts are usually stock Cleveland Wedge flex, and are really great to play out of bunker shots provided you get the Medium bounce model, which I would strongly recommend. The 60 degree version of the club, is magic if you can use it, its like watching a pro play. It also inspires confidence with its sleek design and muscle feel when it punches the ball from the rough, although I usually don't use wedges from the rough, the high bounce and 52-50 loft versions were without flaws and proved infalable if hit even slightly off centre, which is the main selling point.

I found most off-centre hits would even produce fairly quickly stopping characteristics. Obviously with these as still being fairly new it might cost a bit to get a full set, but definately a good idea to perhaps get a 56 degree wedge and a 48/50 degree if you only want to buy 2.

Cleveland came out with this model with a few different options.
Lofts were: 60 58 56 54 52 50 48 46
The 'Bounce' models were:
1 Dot = Low Bounce
2 Dots = Medium Bounce
3 Dots = High Bounce

The bounces are important, and I found the high bounce a little too off putting and hard to use on anything but very soft and high lies. But probably a better option would be medium bounce and/or low depending of course entirely on what kind of turf you'll be playing mainly on, but if you like most people you don't have the money to just throw away on different bounce/loft options etc, so just see if you can try a demo model at a golfing shop with those fake grass matts with the very rough/rough/medium and tight lie options to try on.

And please please, if you are going to purchase a fancy club like this one, just make sure you use a SOFT ball that is either a 4-piece or 3-piece ball, or you aren't going to really see the full benefits of what this club can do. In other words, try to get a Titleist Pro V1 or a Callaway Rule 35, Strata Tour Ace, or any ball that is called a "softie" or a "strata" ball.

I hope this review helps.

Great Club, softer than 588

I've had my Cg10 in the bag for a few months now, and I love it. I've tried a few other wedges over the years, but none has compared to this one. The grooves on my old 588 were wearing down and I picked up one of these. It feels is soft and solid. I've been able to get a good deal of spin as well. I've heard the CG11 is more forgiving, so if you're a less experienced player or just looking for some leeway with your longer wedge shots, you may want to try those. I love the pearl finish on the CG10 as well, which helps on sunny days. I'd recommend this club to anyone looking for a solid addition to their bag.

A Great Feeling & Responding Alternative to More Expensive Forged Wedges!

Great Alternative to Expensive Forged Wedges!

Purchased a SW when these were new in stores and later matched in with a GW here on Ebay. Was pleased with the price and condition of both as the SW was obviously new and the GW had very little, if any, use. A great deal for what's available here!

Has all the very functional traits of a typical Cleveland wedge. The cambered sole helps the club fit the contour of the lie, the bounce is friendly to all types of swings and the feedback and feel are very good. The Carbon Metal Matrix (CMM) material used mimics the look and feel of a forged carbon steel wedge but with better durability so the wedge can last more than a season's play without losing it's performance or appearance.

The trajectory of these wedges was nice and high while the spin was average. The grooves aren't the most aggressive 'box' style that can be found on some nor do they keep up with some of the newer conforming 'V' styles. The design allows for ease of use as much as shot-making. I played a Gap and Sand wedge from this line with forged MB and forged CB iron sets and was very pleased with the only note being that there are wedges that will spin the ball a bit more aggressively be them conforming or non-comforming grooves.

I love the wedge that Cleveland makes. The weight distribution on the club is the best on the market. It has been the perfect addition to my bag.
