Arguable the best wedge ever made.

I now own a 50 degree Cleveland CG14 wedge, a 54 degree, and a 60 degree. Once I hit two chip-ins during one round w/the CG14 60 degree, I was hooked. The yellow gel-back insert in these wedges provide an amazing feel during impact, the insert reduces vibration, and not to mention look so sweet in your back (especially the wedges w/ the Black Pearl finish). The CG14s have a tour offset which is hard to even notice on a wedge, but if you like just a bit of offset, then these will do the trick. The Zip Grooves on these CG14s are 25% larger than usual "U" grooves, and these grooves are PERFECT for players that expect optimal spin. Put it this way: Kenny Perry, a PGA Tour pro, uses nothing but Taylor Made equipment, and a Ping Putter...but Kenny Perry uses a Cleveland CG14 60 degree wedge, and he still has a Taylor Made 56 degree and a 64 degree wedge in the bag too. That's how amazing these wedges are.

LOVE THESE CLEVELAND CG-14 WEDGES
Created: 08/10/09
I built and used soft carbon steel wedges with graphite shafts, because they matched the graphite shafts on the rest of my golf clubs. I heard great things about these wedges but was hesitant to buy them because they had steel shafts. I tried one in a golf shop and liked it so bought three (50, 56 and 60 degree) CG-14's on e-bay.
These wedges feel, look and work fantastic, especially for seniors with slower swing speeds. The deep, square grooves put extra spin on the golf ball, which really makes it check up nicely on the green. Also, the yellow insert prevents a harsh or sting feel if a club is mis-hit.
I have never had a bad experience when using e-bay. However, I usually use the "buy now" option and buy only from sellers with many sales and a satisfaction rate of at least 97%.

Cleveland CG14 Black Pearl 60 Lob Wedge

Overall this is an awesome golf club. Great balance and feel that you expect from top line cleveland wedges. I give this club a 5/5 in performance and playability, but overall only a 4/5 since the black pearl finish wears off so quickly. It doesn't affect the performance at all, but since looks still count for a lot, it's hard to see your almost new club looking worn after only a few rounds of play. i would recommend this club to anyone, though if your all about looks, perhaps the chrome finish would be a better choice.

First off...this is my third set of Cleveland wedges...so I think I can somewhat compare apples to apples. My "older" model 588's were a great design and essetially set a standard for me. The CG11's...don't even go there because they are a one of those experiments that went terribly wrong for the company (plus the lone terrible Ebay seller I've ever encounterd mis-advertised rifle steel as graphite and then had the nerve to insult my demographics...but don't worry because I have not seen him on Ebay for years). I ate them and learned to do my homework before I bid on something. The point is I still liked the Cleveland product and bought a set of CG7 tours with Pro-Launch reds...love them! I play to about a 9 (I do shoot one 72 annually) and have been using stiff graphite for over 25 years. It works for me even though it is difficult to find shafts and sets that are tuned with each other..you either hate one or the other..not so with the CG7s or the reason I'm sitting here writing this. The CG14's that I bought here on Ebay from a really great seller are excellent. The 46,52,56,60 set of four wedges came with the stock cleveland graphite wedge shaft (would have liked the Pro-Launch red which they do make but I cannot afford $500 which is the MFG price and why I love Ebay in the first place). The stock graphite shaft is a UST and very "thin" (the Golf Galaxy technician who installed 1' extentions on them commented that this was a little surprising as well). Make sure that you build up any grips you have installed unless you desire an undersized feel...which I do. A Cleveland rep I had met at the Southern NE Expo mentioned that this was by design because they were not encouraging players to over-swing with a scoring iron...OK...good concept from the designers mindset but I really think that they had a female in truth. I'm thinking this all through as I had not yet taken them out for a test ride at this point. Well after a 36 hole day experience (yes I'm crazy for both walking and carrying but it was a perfect day on a nice course) I'm sold. I used every kind of swing with each of these CG14s including a full 60 degree from 85 yards out (it easily carried about 90 but ther was a breeze in all honesty). Outstanding!!! No issues with the shaft even when I jumped on it...as solid and crisp as you can get from a wedge as far as feel (imagine the majority of you who play steel) I was not even thinking about spin but all of my shots stayed where I put them on some really firm greens. Off center or thin shots still kept me smiling and pure strikes left me drueling. It was only one long day but I think they will stay in my bag for a while (beware of your 56 or 60 with normal bunker play...they will show every scratch and ding because of the pearl finish but people will not be impressed with how your clubs look but how they make your shots go). Save the good looks for your driver and putter because that's when people actually take the time to study your equipment...just like on HD television. I've played Wilson and Vokeys but not enough to say that they are outrageously different...I just don't have the time with rasing a family, working to support both them and my equipment addiction (thank you very much Ebay!). These CG14s are worth it period! Do not hesitate even when critics knock the yellow insert (they make a black tour insert as well). They perform regardless of skill level. P.S. I'm not getting paid to tell you any of this...Good Luck!

Cleveland CG14 Wedge

These are the best wedges Cleveland has ever come out with. The 588's could sometimes feel hollow, but the CG 14's have a solid feel with every hit. Amazing spin control and very consistent ball flight makes these wedges something for every type of golfer. A players to D players are all going to get the most out of these wedges.
