Not Like My 3 wood

Created: 08/01/11
I bought this Hi-Bore XLS driver because I LOVE my Hi-Bore XLS three wood. I hit the three wood 250. I was hitting the driver I bought 240-245 and it felt like the head was dead. The ball jumps off of the three wood with little or no effort. With "this" driver I felt like I had to force the ball down the fairway. I feel like it may be this particular club. I can't imagine two clubs of the same brand feeling so different. I do like the Cleveland "Launcher" but I wanted the same feel as my three wood with the added distance of a driver. For 45 bucks I'll take my lumps and keep looking.

12 Handicap I am. Have been playing Titleist 905T for last couple of years and the Cleveland club has no feel in comparison. Ball does fly hot off of face but make sure you have right shaft. The driver and putter are definitely two clubs you have to hit before you buy. Actually lost distance and playability from my Titleist driver. Good club if you kind of suck and want to get better!

Cleveland HiBore Drivers

Created: 30/08/10
This particular Cleveland model, the HiBore, is just one of those clubs you fall in love with. The aero-dynamics, low-center of gravity, combined a large sweet spot make this a very forgiving driver. You can hit it deep and straight and be the envy of your foursome !

I love this driver! I can't believe how confortable...

Created: 09/04/10
I always thought that most reviews that said how many strokes they took off their game with a new driver was BS.

I was amazed that after trying five different drivers in the last year since I started playing golf I was able to lower my average score at least 5 strokes.

The important thing is that for the first time I feel almost as comfortable with the driver as I do with my 5 iron!

I was having issues with consistency and I had a slice most of the time when hitting the ball hard. Since I can take a swing much like an iron I hit the ball much more consistently with this driver.

For some reason now I don't have to place the ball even with my left ankle. I can place it about two balls width towards the middle and that allows me to swing similar to my irons. When I did that with my other drivers I hit a really bad slice.

Now I look forward to the driving range almost every day!.

For your info I’m only 5"5 and I did not have to cut down the driver as I normally did with other drivers.

I am hitting the ball about 240 to 250 with this driver but that is about the same with other drivers just that now I hit it straighter.

This driver is much louder than most others I used but I actually like the sound. It makes me feel like a big man! :)

I just hope if you buy based on this review it does the same for you.

Cleveland Hi-Bore XLS 9.5 degree Driver Regular

Created: 08/10/09
I purchased for another person. He had a Cleveland Hi-Bore XL 10.5 degree stiff(purchased two year earlier) prior to this club. He had no intrest in another brand driver. Prefers XLS over XL as the ball traveled ten to fifteen yards farther with the same feel. Nothing negative to report.
