Movie description
A group of blackmailed guests gather in a remote mansion, hosted by a daffy butler (Tim Curry), in this campy adaptation of the popular board game. Suspicions flare when their ostensible extortionist, Mr. Boddy, appears--and drops dead in the study. Hidden passageways, double entendres, and creative murder weapons come into play as bodies drop, disappear, and reappear on one dark and stormy night. An all-star cast assume the roles of Professor Plum (Christopher Lloyd), Mrs. White (Madeline Kahn), Miss Scarlet (Lesley Ann Warren), and the rest of the multicolored bunch as the one-liners fly in this jaunty whodunit. It all concludes with three alternate endings that let viewers decide who the real murderer was.

This Is a great Movie!

This is such a wonderful film and a delight to watch. It has comedy, suspence, a lot of drama and even a little action. Its a great movie for the whole family. It has a wonderful cast. With Madleine Kahn, Tim Curry and Lesley Ann Warren, To name a few. It is based upon the parker brothers board game, with a few added surpises. Was it colonel Mustard in the Ballroom with the rope?? There is only one bad thing about this dvd movie. There are NO Extras or bonus features! Paramount needs to come out with a special editon dvd set, with extra's! It could contain deleted scenes, special footage, Bloopers, and commentary! But it has been over 20 years since the movie was intoduced to theaters, and there has been no talk about a special edition dvd. Hopefully, for it's 25th anniversary it will be done! There are three different endings! If you don't like one or think it's to obvious, then choose an ending that you like! The movie keeps you guessing and it keeps you on your toes the whole time!! If anyone has not yet seen this wonderful 80's spoof-comedy classic, Then go and find on ebay!! You will not be sorry!

CLUE the movie
Created: 16/04/10
This movie was based on the board game I loved as a kid, the nice thing about Clue is you could play it over and over again [helpful on a rainy day] and it would be different, because the clues were different etc, so for pure nostalgia, it was ideal, to often movies that are from childhood fun memories such as comic books, movie remakes, or movies based on tv series etc are either to mocking or just to tacky, but this is a movie that holds its own, even if someone didn't know or play clue growing up, they could watch this comedy/ mystery and love it, laugh, and enjoy trying to figure things out, the clever play on words the excellent casting, the talent of the actors didn't have to try to overcome the story because the story was fun, funny, clever, and it just managed to work well, that talented actors played the roles perhaps in ways that the characters when known from the game were not imagined, such as the career of Miss Scarlet, or the background story on some of the other characters but that is also part of what made this movie so much fun. I actually came across it again re-run on tv but having seen only the ending of it, prompted me to purchase this movie.

I could not figure out how they could make a movie from a board game, but not only did they accomplish that, they made a great movie!
Tim Curry is a natural as the scheming butler and the other stars are perfect for the roles they play.
The alternate endings make this exceptionally entertaining and well done.

One of the Best movies Ever.

I ordered this because I could not find my Old copy of this DVD and could not be without it. I found that old copy the day I received the replacement in the mail, but such is life.
This movie is so wonderful. Funny, clever, silly - everything one would want in a proper old school murder mystery. I find myself often typing in "Movies like Clue" to find new (old) films to watch. It helps that I was raised playing Clue and reading the short mystery stories for children based on the game, I realize.
Fun, campy and curious, this is a great film all around if you like who-dun-its that don't take themselves very seriously. I recommend it to friends, and I will buy it again the next time I can't find my copy. It is possible that, eventually, I will have a lending library of just this one movie.
