Samuel L. Jackson is Inspiring

Sam Jackson is INSPIRING in Coach Carter
A great cast headlines an incredible cinderella story. This is one of those movies that you can watch over and over again and it will still stir up emotions within.
Coach Carter was the highest opening weekend of any release from an MTV Film, and for good reason, it's amazing.
Samuel L. Jackson is amazing as Coach Ken Carter and young stars Rob Brown, Ashanti, Channing Tatum, Robert Ri'chard, and Rick Gonzalez make up a superb supporting cast.
This is one of my all-time favorite sports film.
Final Verdict:
5/5
Rent or Buy?: Any sports fan must have this movie in their collection. If you have a heart, Coach Carter is for you!

Coach Carter is a top sports drama 4/5
Created: 22/09/05
Before reading my review of 'Coach Cater' - let me preface by saying that I'm a sucker for any sports movie. Rocky IV is my favorite movie of all time. I loved Remember the Titans, Million Dollar Baby, Raging Bull, etc.
In typical sports drama fashion, Coach Cater is the story of a coach who challenges his lost players to be betters athletes, sportsmen and people. Samuel L Jackson plays Coach Carter - the provocative and controversial coach who challenges his inner-city basketball team to dedicate themselves to his philosophy, their game, and their schoolwork. In the meantime, Carter is challenging the school-district, his family, and himself to assess their values and beliefs. Putting himself and his family on the line to advance the futures of his players, Carter asks the district, the school, and the players to do the same... and over time, the majority convert.
Samuel Jackson does a fine job as the passionate, hard-headed basketball coach and former player. The players and surrounding actors do a similarly fine job portraying their respective characters.
The most satisfying moment of the movie comes at the end when we learn what happened to the real-life players the actors portrayed... proving that the movie is not some far-fetched reenactment.

dramatic, but not about sports.
Created: 26/06/06
this is a great movie that is based in a basketball atmosphere, but is not about basketball, dont expect another sports movie. this is about a top coach who was hired to make a great team under his own terms. he is hired in a bottom rated school and because bottom schools get less funding they are only falling into a bigger and bigger hole of students not graduating and ending up in jail. coach carter wants to make a difference, he demands respect, and discipline, and on top of it all, he demands good grades.
when the teachers, principal, and even students dont take his intelectual performance seriously he withdraws the team from playing and creates a huge controversial fight in the school system. he gets personal attacks of many kinds as he sticks to his morals.
carter insists that if the school board over-rides his decision to let the boys play regardless of grades he will quit.
please watch this movie to see how it turns out!!!!! so good!!!!

Coach Carter (2005, DVD)

Great movie. Its not really about basketball. Its about changing your life with a strong mentor. Its about discipline. Its about breaking down stereotypes. Its about learning to work as a team. Samuel L Jackson plays the perfect coach. This based on a true story in the Bay Area (northern CA). You will see real names, real schools etc.. In the end you'll find out what happens to all of these players. Its really amazing. almost a tear jerker. Highly recommended even if you don't like sports movies like myself.

Excellent motivational movie

This is a great story about motivation and the changes that young men have growing up. A strong teacher comes back to coach the basketball team and change the young lives. He is motivated himself because he knows if these kids don't make a change, they will either end up in prison, or dead.
It is a definite buy and a great movie to own.
