Cobra SZ Fairway Wood Golf Club

About me: I'm a mid- to high- handicap golfer and play 1-2 rounds a month.

I currently carry the Cobra SZ 3-wood in a regular shaft. I previously played the Cleveland Quadpro 3- and 5-woods and the Nickent Genex 3dx 3-wood. I’ve also demo’d the Cleveland Launcher fairway woods and the TaylorMade V-steel fairway woods.

Performance: The Cobra SZ has a deeper face than traditional fairway woods and the lateral back weights on this club make it forgiving and very east to hit. I am much more consistent and accurate with the Cobra than I have ever been wit any other fairway wood. One of the things I like best about the Cobra is the fantastic clear ring at impact.

One thing to watch for with this club is shaft flex. If you are on the cusp of shaft flexes (I am between regular and stiff), be careful with the shaft selection in this club. The Aldila HM Tour shaft that comes stock in this club has a smooth mid-point flex, but the shaft feels softer to me than other regular shafts I carry. You may want to demo this club and determine if what flex feels most comfortable to you before buying. If you are buying cold without trying, I’d go with the stronger flex.

Bottomline: Great 3-wood. Deeper face makes it more forgiving and easier to hit. I’m more consistent and accurate with this club than with any fairway wood I’ve ever played. But be careful of your shaft flex selection.

I have been golfing for several years now and am a 26 handicap. It has been through much trial and error, not to mention expense, to assemble a set of clubs I can hit well. I have to say "Finally, I've found my fairway wood". Being an above average distance hitter, the Cobra SZ 5 Wood fits my game perfectly. It's a great club off the tee and very easy to hit in the fairway. It has great trajectory and miss-hits are few. I love the way it sounds and the confidence it has given me.

I brought the cobra sz 5 wood because of how well I hit the 3 wood I had purchased at Golfsmith. The ball jumps off of the clubhead, and you are able to get the maximum distance without sacrificing any accuracy. This is simply a great line of woods.

I bought a Cobra SZ 3w about 5 weeks ago & thru my driver into the closet, I hit my 3w about 225yds. on average & I'm 63 years young. during this period of time my handicap has dropped from 22.4 to 16.8 I used to average 8 penalty strokes per round now averages less than 3, its a lot of fun hitting from the fairway most of the time now, the only bad part is that I now don't find as many golf balls because I spend a lot less time in the woods. I am sure that the stiff shaft & the feel of the Cobra has really affected my confidence in a positive way........

I was looking for a ladies SS Cobra 7 wood to match my set when I ran across a review of the SZ Cobra 7 wood. It made a lot of sense to me so I bought one. I have used it four or five times now and I can say I did not make a mistake. I love my Cobra 7 wood!!! It is perfect for the distance I was after and the solid clink sound it makes when I hit is music! I love everything about it, from it's classy appearence to it's satisfying performance. Thanks to whoever wrote the review that helped me make a great decision.
