Code Of Silence
Created: 20/03/08
If you like Chuck Norris, movies shot in Chicago, and action in general, this movie is for you. This 1985 film is one of Norris' best. Playing a renegade Chicago cop, he is out to save the city and the world for that matter all by himself.
Typical Norris traits include martial arts and taking down several groups of bad guys alone, while the rest of the tactical squad decided to alienate themselves from their seargeant due to a mis-understanding.
The title, "Code Of Silence" refers to cops keeping quiet when the truth of the matter needs to be told. The running storyline is that of an older cop who accidentally shoots an innocent teenager while on a drug bust. The cop then plants a gun in the teens hand to make it look like the teen was armed. The cop's partner decides for the moment to remain "silent" about what he really saw. The truth comes out in the end anyway.
A familiar supporting cast, including Dennis Farina, Ron Dean, Nathan Davis and others make it a great action movie.

movie. I enjoy all Norris movies. This is a good one, lots of action and gun play. Plenty on bad guys dropping like flys.

One of the Best of the Norris films. Chuck is in high kicking form. Action galore, and a twisted plot makes it one of the top five of my list of martial arts films.
But, who could ever compete with the infamous Lee.

Code Of Silence--Chuck Norris 1985 release

Filmed on location in Chicago/Calumet Harbor, in 1985, it took an extra-long
time for this to become available on DVD. This is Chuck Norris's BEST film
effort of the 80's, partly because the kick-boxing is less contrived and
partly because he's a totally believable honest Chicago cop(yes, there's lots
of 'em). The supporting cast includes other Chicago-crime-drama actors, both
before and after this effort, and the scenes on "the El" clinch the realism,
and yes, that includes the dive into the Chicago river! Music/soundtrack is
outstanding, and the night shots downtown are rivalled only by "the Fugitive"
years later. The mechanical crime-fighting assistant Norris uses as a diversion
is well-done and more plausible than Robo-cop ripoffs. And Henry Silva is, well,
Henry Silva. One flaw is that the DVD cover features a Hollywood(Capitol Tower)
backdrop--no such problems with the movie itself !
