Coin Collecting for Dummies covers a full range of topics,it gives the beginning collector or enthusiast a good foundation of knowledge to get their collection off to a great start. I would highly recommend reading this book before you begin buying coins. Make sure you are educated in Numismatics before you buy coins, because if you are not it can cost you. There are fakes and costly pit falls out there so educate your self and happy coin collecting!

First, the price was right. Secondly, I figured it would be a good book to start with, as I'm a novice collector. The book clearly was the right one for me. It's easy to read, well organized and perfect for someone new to collecting. I don't think it would be of much use or interest to someone who has been collecting for a long time, but then that's not the intention.
