The Book Collecting Art Plastic Jewelry Is Fabulous!
Created: 21/03/09
As a major collector of plastic jewelry I found this book to be valuable in
identifying many of my plastic jewelry pieces I knew little about. Excellent photos! I would recommend this book to anyone interested in collecting jewelry.
This was a great price on a Leigh Leshner book.

Great pictures!

If you are looking for a lot of information about plastic jewelry, this is not the book for you. The first 16 pages are devoted to information about plastics, how to identify each type, caring for them, etc. The rest of the book is a compilation of pictures (with prices) of all sorts of plastic jewelry. The photos are in full color, beautifully done. If you only want to buy one book this isn't the one. I have a number of books on collectible jewelry, and I'm pleased to own this one also.

Great Beginners' book
Created: 18/03/11
For a beginner collector of art plastic jewelry, this book gives the basics. There are many excellent illustrations of jewelry to provide an overview of different plastic jewelry, from early plastic to contemporary designers.
I wanted to know a bit more about the illustrations, i.e. sizes and approximate date of production of the items.

I AM NEW AT COLLECTING BAKELITE ITEMS AND THE LEIGH LESHNER BOOK WAS MY FIRST. LIVING IN CANADA THERE ARE VERY FEW BOOKS AVAILABLE. THE BOOK IS COLOURFUL AND VERY INFORMATIVE. HELPS ME IN BOTH MY PURCHASES AND HAVING AN IDEA OF VALUES. THE LAYOUT IS EXCELLENT FOR THE NEWBY AS IT IS VERY EASY TO READ WITH BOLD COLOURS AND INTERESTING ARTICLES. IT HAS ALLOWED ME TO FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH WHAT I HAVE SPENT AND PAID FOR CERTAIN PIECES. I AT THIS POINT HAVE ABOUT A TOTAL OF OVER 2000 ITEMS IN MY COLLECTION FROM RAW RODS RING STOCK AND MANY BANGLES. I LOVE TO SHARETHHE BEUTY OF BAKELITE WITH MY KIDS WHO ARE ALWAYS WELCOME TO TAKE A NEW PIECE HOME ANYTIME THEY COME TO MY HOME . AT THE END OF THE DAY I THINK DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR IT IS A GOOD INVESTMENT . I WOULD SUGGEST BOTH NOVICE AND EXPERIENCED COLLECTORS OF BAKELITE SHOULD HAVE A COPY OF LEIGH'S BOOK GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY HUNTING TO ALL YOU AVID COLLECTORS CHEERS BOB
