Reference book for Post war Lionel Trains
Created: 01/12/10
This book was a great value as well as a good reference for postwar Lionel trains. For a person that knew very little about trains this book explains them so anyone would understand it - type, grading, as well as price guide. There is also a prewar Lionel train book by the same author that is very good for reference use.

A Very Useful Tool & Reference for Begining Collector
Created: 02/07/08
Just as informative as David Doyle's Guide to Pre-War Lionel Trains, this handy tote along reference helps the new collector or novice by, helping to focus in on the changes that occurred during the war. Lionels had ceased production due to war efforts and demand for metals and other materials used to make Lionel Trains. New Lionels emerged in 1945, which had similarities to the Pre-War Lionel products. This helpful guide will guide you through most of the transitions. You quickly will clarify where 1942 models end and the 1945 models begin.

A Must Have Guide
Created: 03/03/10
I am not sure how valuable this this book might be for the experienced and serious collector of postwar lionel train and accessories. However, for the inexperienced novice enthusiast such like me, it is an outstanding must have. I find it more valuable than "Greenberg's Lionel Trains Pocket Price Guide", because of the pictures, the descriptions, and the easily followed layout.
It is a book that the novice should have as a reference tool when bidding on ebay.

Compact and Useful Guide
Created: 05/01/09
This guide is packed with color photographs and useful information. The size makes it convenient to carry if you were attending a train show. Items are organized by model number and often accompanied by a picture. Price estimates are given depending on the condition (very good, excellent, like new) and there is also an indication of rarity (1-5 where number one represents a common item and five being scarce). All types of Lionel equipment from the postwar period are included. You can find locomotives of all kinds, rolling stock, transformers, accessories, track, train sets, and even catalogs listed in this guide. The utility and price make this book a good value.
