Moving and Eyeopening
Created: 01/09/10
I bought this movie prior to my daughter deploying to Iraq. I served in the first Gulf War. A very well done video about the real side of war and it's emotional toll on the players, from privates to LTCs. War sucks and destroys families, faith, and futures. Nobody knows that better than those who have seen their friends, sons, daughters, spouses die in combat. All should know that wars are necessary to safeguard our freedom, but if we go to war, it should to be to destroy the enemy completely and quickly. But our politicians aren't interested in winning wars anymore. Their only interest is opinion among members of the United Nations. I vote we send every politician into combat for a year minimum before serving in Washington.

Lima Company Marines - Combat Diary
Created: 10/04/09
A documentary style movie that highlights Lima Companies difficult time
during the Gulf War and the fact that it suffered some of the highest
casulties of any Allied unit during the fighting. Some great graphics
and highlights of the fighting done by computer enhancement and actual
footage of the area, with maps overlaid and some of the strategy involved
during some of the campaigns for the company. A good, but not great,
production of fighting Marines. But do not expect anything like a movie
such as "Sands of Iwo Jima"-definitely not in that class or production.
Still probably worth the price if you can get it fairly cheap and most
military students will enjoy the viewing probably.

Very moving

I bought this movie to basically see some action from over in Iraq, the video had some of that but on a much more personal level it focuses probably 30% of the time talking to families of the Marines that were KIA. It was very moving and brought the war home so to speak. I do not know if I would recommend this video to anyone else or not on one hand it is a detailed account of the experiences of Lima Comapny during deployment in Iraq but on the other hand it is very emotional and is an eye opening experience and the part of the families speaking of there loved ones was really sad.

Combat Diary - The Marines of Lima Company
Created: 10/09/08
This video captures how war is viewed through the eyes of young soldiers, from idealistic dreams to the reality of loosing to their fellow soldiers. The interviews with the deceased soldier’s family members are very moving. At times this video makes you feel like you are amongst soldiers of Lima Company.

This movie is very good but very heart-wrenching!! I really liked it but it was very sad and u understand more of whats at stake, what you could lose and how many people deal with the lose of that someone.! You also get to hear what happened straight from the soldiers and there families.
I highly recommend but not for the faint of heart.
