Fernandez; Tom Keller; Jean Baptiste Mondino. For much of his career, Boz Scaggs has taken the musical path of slick L.A. pop, culminating in his 1976 hit album SILK DEGREES. COME ON HOME brings Scaggs full circle to his first love of R&B and blues for the first time since his earliest recordings. Members of the famed Hi Records house band, Bonnie Raitt's touring band, and Little Feat's Fred Tackett accompany Scaggs in criss-crossing the musical map.COME ON HOME features traditional numbers by Sonny Boy Williamson ("Early In The Morning") and Jimmy Reed ("Found Love"), nuggets from the Stax catalog (the Hayes/Porter classic "Your Good Thing [Is About To End]," and Texas jump blues ("T-Bone Shuffle"), all performed with loving care by this student of soul. Scaggs' originals fit in nicely next to these covers, giving a nod to Charles Brown's stylings ("After Hours") and French bistro ambiance ("Goodnight Louise"), complete with rambling piano and an accompanying squeezebox.

Editorial Reviews
...Boz croons with grace, soul and all-knowing cool on a collection of gospel, r&b and blues-flavored numbers....The horns sound great and the overall vibe feels right througout this very fine album.

Modern rock/blues with a great male crooner. A+

Created: 06/07/09
One of Boz's best CD in my opinion. Awesome players, excellent production, classic rock'n blues tunes, every track is a gem. If you love Elvis you'll love 'Love Letters'. Wonderful ballads, great dance/swing and shuffles and don't forget the deep groovin' opening track 'It All Went Down the Drain'. If blues, shuffles, swing and ballads with a knock out crooner is your thig, buy this disc as you will be glad you did.

Boz' Briefcase Full of Blues

This thing sounds like one of those Rhino comps that get put out for R&B groups of the 50's. There is a distinct sound and feel to it that makes you think the ensemble had been together for years. This is a tribute to Scaggs as a band leader and also a singer and writer. You LITERALLY cannot tell when he is doing one of his own songs and when he has dug up some obscure blues number from the past..I was fooled more then once.
This is the kind of tribute to the blues that you crave but rarely get. The solos are great, the band is tight and results could stand against anything you could see at The Ponderosa Stomp this year. (For those of you unfamiliar with the event take a minute to check it out on line...you'll be glad they are there..)

Come On Home-Boz Scaggs

One of the best CD's of the 90's.
It's got legs. I listen to it over & over again & I'm always hearing something new.
It was the Beach Music tune (Sick & Tired)that brought this to my attention, & it has re-introduced me to an artist that I will now purchase anything by, on sight.
Grab this if you can & play it lots!!

Fabulous music for everybody that loves the blues and even for the jazz lovers amongst us! This is one for the collection and not the always available in regular stores. I decided the e-bay route for the rate&shipping cuz it was lower than from other online stores. The CD came very fast, brandnew in original wrapper and is a true gem to listen to!
