Coneheads (DVD, 2001, Sensormatic)

I hadn't seen Coneheads for years since it first came out after the success of the Saturday Night Live skit that spawned this movie. Recently I saw it in HD on TV and that sparked the need to own this DVD so I could enjoy it more often. Unfortunately most of the places were I buy DVDs was long out of stock on this movie. That futile search led me to Ebay where I found the movie again.

If you liked the Coneheads skit on SNL and if you liked movies like Wayne's World, then you will like Coneheads. Only Dan Aykroyd and Jane Curtin could replay the SNL characters so brilliantly. From the first scene where Dan Aykroyd and Jane Curtin are arguing in their spaceship about not following directions that causes them to crash-land on earth, to the end, this movie is a collection of classically funny scenes reminiscent of SNL. In addition, we are treated to brilliant cameos from famous funny people like Michael Richards, Phil Hartman, David Spade, Sinbad, Garrett Morris, Adam Sandler and more. Dan Aykroyd plays his part of Beldar to the "T". Very funny film.

An 80's skit from 'Saturday Night Live' hits the big screen!

Beldar (Dan Aykroyd) & Primat (Jane Curtain) have a simple job; to scope out primitive inhabited planets throughout the galaxy. However, due to a miscalculation, they crash on one (Earth) instead. Watch as these aliens are stranded and forced to live among us 'blunt-skulls' (as they put it).

Follow their adventures, including pregnancy and birth of a daughter, as they try to fit into our lifestyles.. and all the while INS (Immigration & Naturalization Services) are hot on the trail after Beldar takes a job using forged resident documents.

They spend nearly 20 years pretending to be human, when the call finally comes that a long overdue rescue ship is coming. The INS agents inadvertently end up going along for the ride as well.

Once back on Remulak, his elders notice that Beldar had made some changes to appear human and as a result must face his planets' council.. who charges him with treason and then his fate is uncertain.

A must-see for any SNL fan which is sure to please all age groups. Laugh-a-minute antics, and comedy presentation that will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the flick!

Always remember to "Snarfle the Garfog" (fight the beast) while singing Soft Cell's "Tainted Love", and believe in yourself.

a fun movie of what it could be like if people for outer space arrived here and 'blended' in. for comedy relief INS trying to find them. the rescue space ship arrives and takes them and the 2 INS agents back the their home world.
they do manage to return when they realize they liked it better here.
I believe based on an early saturday night live skit. with the not ready for prime time players. the best.
should have had a sequel

I love the coneheads ")

So these two coneheads land on earth and they're people cant come get them for awhile. So they get jobs and try to live like humans. The girl has a baby conehead and live happily ever after.... well until these annoying cops try to send them back to they're planet.


Overall 5 out of 5 stars, very funny movie.

I love this movie, I wish it had extras with it, but it really puts use back to the original comedy of the saturday night live crew. you won't find a better comedy than this for the snl gang, and to see some of the guys which are no longer with us, it just does the movie right! Children can watch this as well, and parents don't have to worry about the rating and the usual vulgar and violent things. This is truely A great comedy.
