Counter-Strike (Xbox, 2003)

Everybody knows Counter Strike on the PC, but how does it fare in the Xbox world? Controllers cannot compare to mice when it comes to sensitivity and aim, but this is just as fun on Xbox. Campaign and multiplayer are so similar to PC, but with graphics improving on PCs, Xbox's version doesn't look quite as real. Due to a lack of keyboard, Xbox's version successfully converts the buy zone to an easy task. A simple and addicting first person shooter, Counter Strike on Xbox draws you in with it's graphic headshots and difficulty. Online play is just as fun, compared to on the PC, and even with Xbox 360's advancements, there are still players on Xbox Live playing this game. Different maps than on PC and fun missions truly makes the campaign worth the buy and multiplayer, either against friends, on Xbox live, or just against the CPU, nothing compares (except Halo). Strategy and skill are the key to success and can be achieved with simple controls and relaxing fun.

First let me say that I love games made by Valve. Second I pride myself as a hardcore console games. To me Counter-Strike for x-box was ideal as a game to get. I put it in and booted up ready to do some terrorist shooting. The tutorial was straight forward and the controls were good once I got used to them. What I wasn't expecting was the competitive nature of the game. It is a multiplayer-only game and unless you spend countless hours practicing against computers on the maps then you will have a hard time having fun. The players I participated with online were so competitive and intense that I was quickly scared away. It was fun to pit myself against the computers and if that makes me a "noob" then call me Sir Noobington of Sucktopia but like I said before, unless your willing to get practice and suffer verbal abuse up the wazoo then i heartily recommend Counter Strike and applaud your resilience.

I began playing this on a computer, but haven't played for about 7 years due to not having it set up on my computer. This was the 1st game I bought after receiving my XBOX 360. You will need an upgrade to play it on the 360, but if you are hooked up to the internet, then it will do everything for you. This game is meant to be played online, so if you are looking for a game to play by yourself, don't buy this. The game is a bit old, and well a little outdated and it seems that the following has fallen out a bit. There are not many people playing, however there is just about always a host set up with at least 5 people playing. Some are really really good, but there are always beginners that make it easy for you to make a kill. The controls are a bit harder to get use to than it was on the computer, but like any game, you adapt. The hardest for me is lining up my cross-hares, the harder you push the faster it moves, the gentler the slower is moves. The problem is that a lot of the people playing are very fast, so it is hard to keep up.

Great first person shooter game and fun to play live! Graphics are a little dry but the game is really old.
I chose to buy it because it is a game that I can always come back to and play.

It's the fun, fast action paced, FPS for the PC but for the XBOX Now compatible for the 360, but it's not anything like the PC version. A must for die hard counter-strike fans, but people who are just getting into the game will be disappointed. Similar to Halo's button configuration so it's easy to move around, but will take some time getting use to. Fun on xbox live, but still missing a few maps from the PC Counter-Strike
