Industry Reviews
"In [this book], Orman fine-tunes her winning formula and comes up with the profoundly encouraging revelation that money is little more than a reflection of one's personal beliefs."

Truly life changing if you want it to be.

This book was a gift from my mom a few years back. It's probably the best gift she ever gave me. I really read the book cover to cover. You can get a real inside look at yourself and your money when you read the stories inside the book. This IS NOT some get rich quick thing. This is a book that teaches you to face your reallities and responsibilities to yourself and your money. Suze has written testimonies about herself and her clients. Some of these testamonies really hit home. You may not relate to all of the stories told and the advice given. But I can assure you that a good number of them will open your eyes and get you to think differently. If you can face your flaws and change them for the better by living out the exercises she lays out for you, you will be glad you bought this book. I have made the exercises in her book a regular part of my lifestyle and have really lived a much happier and healthier life. And if you stay to the things you learn you will feel better about your financial situations. The power of money is a funny thing. And it can't hurt anyone to read a book that will help you unravel some of the knots in your finances. Furthermore, you will feel better about many aspects of your life that you may not have associated with money prior to buying the book and really giving it a good read. I recommend reading it from cover to cover. Read everything if you think it applies to you or not. Because even the things that don't apply to you in the now will make good food for thought and insight for later down the road. It really will if you live it and act upon it. Make a commitment to yourself and your everyday lifestyle. You will see very subtle changes happening. Those changes will only inspire you to do more and be better. Good Luck! Michael.

EXCELLENT BOOK! Easy to follow!

I liked this book. It was written in the average person's language, not a financial guru's level. It had practical advice for everyday things to do to help get out of debt and increase your wealth. I bought it because the new seller had it listed at a fraction of the publisher's listed price, and it wal always checked out of the library. I highlyy recommend this book if you want to gain more financial security without paying an investment person $100 an hour!

Don't waste your time reading Suze Orman books

She is just a copy-cat writer that says the exact same thing as everyone else. I don't think she has ever given an original piece of advice in her life. There are a couple of good ideas in this book but those ideas are written elsewhere in a much better way.

It doesn't help that she is a man-hater which cuts out half her potential market! Avoid Orman!

The Courage to Be Something Else

Created: 08/11/06
Suze Orman writes a story about people and money. Her story includes real-life examples, including her own and demonstrates how you can be someone other than who you are right now and be someplace other than where you are right now. The rhythm of the book lures your interest, making it difficult to stop reading and begin all the wonderful, simple, and powerful suggestions that she suggests.
Buy the book. Read the book. Complete all of Suze's suggestions. and Be Courageous!

If you think poor, you will be poor!

Great informative book which is especially beneficial for the pack rat. You will learn how to declutter your life and your thinking. I think it is very beneficial and I have recommended it to kids starting out on their own after college. My daughter became very interested and has used the principals already in her life. She stays organized, clutter free and has the right frame of mind when it comes to becoming secure financially. This book started her interest in using money to her benefit and she has gone on to delve even deeper into financial planning and how investments work. This is a great starter book written at an easy to understand level. A great buy but remember to write your name in the book when your friends borrow it!
