While many of the highlights are hard rock-based ("Shake My Tree," "Waiting on You," "Pride and Joy"), there are a few slow blues numbers that are just as strong ("Take Me For a Little While," "Over Now"). Although COVERDALE/PAGE caused quite a stir with Zep/classic rock fans worldwide, the duo only played a handful of live dates together in Japan, and split up shortly thereafter when Plant finally agreed to re-join forces with Page (under the name Page/Plant).

Editorial Reviews
4 Stars - Excellent - ...opt[s] for the post- LED ZEPPELIN III orchestrations that made Page's group a worldwide phenomenon...this album screams classic from start to finish...

3 Stars - Good - ...may not be the second coming of Led Zeppelin, but it's close enough that only the most curmudgeonly would deny the band its due....Coverdale['s] bluesy howl has never been put to better use than against Page's guitar...

This CD rocks hard and is underrated.

Created: 01/03/07
Back in 1991, Led Zeppelin was very close to reuniting, but at the past minute, Robert Plant pulled out and the reunion collapsed. Jimmy Page, angered over this and desperately wanting to play classic Zep tunes and compose new Zep style music, got together with David Coverdale, was it to spite Plant? Who knows, but the end result is a gem. Page really got his groove back on this CD and his Guitar Army is out in full force. Slabs upon slabs of guitars are smashed over your head on standout tracks such as "Shake My Tree" "Absolution Blues" and "Easy Does It". Coverdale barely keeps up, and the CD is only slightly marred by his cliche, unoriginal lyrics. But most of the time it doesn't matter. Just sit back and enjoy Page's best effort since Presence.

The Soundalike.

Created: 13/02/08
Not bad, not bad. Have always wanted to hear the CD all the way through but have had other things to purchase and it sorta fell by the way side. Pages' guitar work is quite good and Coverdale (the Plant sound alike) is not too bad, mind you I prefer Plant even though he's having a tough time heading for those high notes now, but Coverdale, when screamin like a banshee does come mighty close to being a very good Plant soundalike. Quite enjoyed the CD and am happy that I finally purchased it. Debbie

Coverdale/Page - Coverdale/Page (CD 1993)

Created: 06/06/07
Surprisingly hard rock and bluesy. Page literally rocks out like he did in his Zepplin years, and he sounds great on the acoustic songs. Coverdale's voice is strong, but a bit dark, he's best belting out the blues rock and the vocal range is great. I'm surprised they only did this one cd, well worth checking out though. Page uses the bow (once again) on one of the songs, which is so "Zeppelin-esqe" you think it's a Zepplin song pulled out of the archives, Coverdale is best on this take.

Jimmy Page & Cloverdale

Created: 11/05/11
This album is not the greatest Page album I have ever heard, but it is still worth a listen. Page has strong Zeppelin style riffs and Cloverdale delivers Zeppelin style vocals. A quite unique album that can be compared to all of Pages later work. (Good guitar playing, but weak songwriting and vocals)
