Good edge of your seat horror flick

Created: 29/06/10
In Ogden Marsh, Iowa, a small town of just over 1200 people, there is something happening that is making the citizens act homicidal. Sheriff David Dutton is forced to kill a resident and another kills his wife and son. Following the discovery of a downed plane and a dead pilot things really begin to get out of hand.

This is a well written and directed movie with a great cast. It is so realistic that you could actually believe it may have happened already.

This is a r emake of the 1973 film of the same name. Much of the filming was done in Middle Georgia, and Lenox, Iowa. The movie keeps you entertained throughout, however the ending is somewhat predictable.

The cast includes: Timothy Olyphant as David Dutton, Radha Mitchell as Judy Dutton, Joe Anderson as Russell Clank, Danielle Panabaker as Becca Darling, Brett Rickaby as William (Bill) Farnum, Preston Bailey as Nicholas Farnum, Christie Lynn Smith as Deardra Farnum, Glenn Morshower as Intelligence Officer, Lisa K. Wyatt as Peggy Hamill, Larry Cedar as Principal Ben Sandborn, Joe Reegan as Pvt. Billy Babcock and Justin Welborn as Curt Hammil

I would get this movie if you are into suspense movies that keep you on the edge of your seat.

The Crazies - Shock Value, but does not capture the audience!

 | No, I would not recommend this product.
Created: 06/11/11
The movie attempts to create the shock value starting right in the beginning of the movie. In summary, the movie is about a small town in which the residents start going nuts. The movie attempts to capture a plot at the beginning as well but does a poor job in my opinion. There are only a few clues at the beginning that help you understand the movie. The movie appears to be somewhat realistic in the event of a pandemic. The main characters, however, seem to have 9 lives throughout the movie. I have never seen as much happen to the main characters and they keep on ticking! A good movie to watch for a quick scare but not an excellent one. If you are into the zombie movement, you may enjoy the movie more. Overall, an ok movie to rent, not purchase.

Crazy, but NOT scary at all.

Created: 09/08/10
Was hoping for a really scary movie, after seeing the commercials for this movie, but never did make it to theater to see it. So, then had to wait to buy a copy off of eBay (do not like paying full price), and needless to say, I was very disappointed in the movie. I never saw the "original" version, as that may have helped to determine if I had really wanted to see the "remake".
I only jumped "one" time, and the rest of the time I was wondering why they were even calling this a horror/scary movie in the first place.
Do NOT waste your time or money on this DVD and get something else instead.

Frightening!

Created: 08/03/11
I've never seen the classic 70's film so I had no clue what to expect watching this. I highly enjoyed it (in fact, it sort of reminds me of Stephen King's work)! I found it to be extremely scary, especially when you watch it alone in a dark room! The suspense kept my eyes glued to the screen and kept my interest the entire time, never a dull moment! I loved the action and the incredibly creepy storyline. I definitely recommend purchasing this for any horror fan!
