Album Notes
Scorpions: Klaus Meine (vocals), Rudolf Schenker (guitar), Matthias Jabs (guitar), Fancis Buchholz (bass) and Herman Rarebell (drums).Personnel: Klaus Meine (vocals, background vocals); Rudolf Schenker, Matthias Jabs (guitar, background vocals); Jim Vallance, Koen VanBaal (keyboards); Herman Rarebell (drums); Erwin Musper, Jim Lewis, Tony Ioannoua, Claudia Frohling, Wolfgang Praetz, Dries Van Der Schuyt, Cliff Roles, Keith Olsen (background vocals).Audio Mixers: Erwin Musper; Keith Olsen ; Shay Baby.Recording information: Goodnight L.A. Studios, Los Angeles, CA; Wisseloord Studio, Hilversum, The Netherlands.Photographers: Ross Halfin; Richard Evans ; Wanelle Fitch. After the release of Savage Amusement in 1988, the Scorpions expressed disdain toward the album, feeling that it was too polished when compared to their other work. Their longtime producer, Dieter Dierks, was replaced with well-known rock producer Keith Olsen, who would produce Crazy World and assist in making it one of the Scorpions' greatest recordings. Their music had certainly changed since Savage Amusement, sounding a little bit heavier and less glamorous. But even with the metal sound, the songs remain melodic and catchy. The power ballads on the album, "Wind of Change" and "Send Me an Angel," are arguably two of the band's greatest slow numbers, boasting soothing harmony and lyrics. Crazy World remains the Scorpions' finest '90s album and is sure to please its listeners. ~ Barry Weber

Wind of Change was the worldwide top single of 1991.

Created: 29/11/08
"For the SCORPIONS too, the wind of change continued to blow. Before the production and release of their worldwide mega seller the Wind of Change CD, Crazy World (1990), their long relationship with Dieter Dierks, the Cologne-based producer of so many successful recordings, came to an end. The very first album to be produced by the SCORPIONS themselves, Crazy World, made in Los Angeles, co-produced by Keith Olsen and featuring the smash hit Wind of Change, immediately became the most successful CD to date. Not only was Crazy World the most successful album, Wind of Change was the worldwide top single of 1991, occupying the N° 1 slot in 11 countries."

Not a bad song on this cd

The casual listener may only recognize the song "Winds of Change" on this release but let me tell you, this entire cd rocks pretty well. In typical Scorpions style you get outstanding guitar work, great song writing and Klaus Meines' trademark vocals. Although there are a few other Scorps cd's that I chose to play at home first this one ranks right up (in the top 5) of my favorite releases by the band. If you like good hard rock and melodic guitar work then your sure to really enjoy this one!

So Good!

Created: 03/12/06
I am a huge Scorpians fan, but this album seldom gets played because of their other cds especialy Savage Amusment. By the time I've played their other albums, its time to move on, so this one seldom gets played. But I am pleased when I do get to play it. Money and Fame is Great! Don't Believer Her plays through my head alot without grabbing the cd. To Be With You In Heaven is another great one. I have Wind Of Change on single. Send Me An Angle is another great one.
So, if the Scorpians wern't so good, then this cd would get played a lot more by me.

I love the 80's rock especially a band like the scorps. They are great writers
their music has depth, some hard, some slow, and some just from the heart.Today's
rock seems to be one tempo, and missing something.I had all their colletion on
cassettes but no cd's so I'm trying to restock it in cd's.If you're new the scorps I suggest buying their music, because the rest of the world know how good
they are.
