The Crooked E: The Unshredded Truth about Enron (DVD, 2007)

I wanted to purchase any coverage that people had made regarding their experience at Enron. The Smartest Guys in the Room. a very good documentary on Enron was all I had seen before. The Crooked E is a movie on Enron, and as such is subservient to the usual storyline roll out of a movie. It's not particularly good, the information about Enron and the antics of the leadership is treated secondarily to the protagonists issues with his girlfriend etc, the crooks of Enron are a bit like cut-out figures because their antics were covered only as their actions impacted the lead character. In fact it got a bit odd - because the information of Enron's losses were spoken over the screen by the lead character in order to explain what the latest bit of skullduggery from Enron.

About the most interesting point in the movie - was the end where it was explained where the lead characters office mates ended up - one went to World Comm!

This story was probably a better book than a movie.

I have only seen clips and trailers of this movie, but the whole Enron scandal was an interesting and concerning bit of what really happens behind closed doors, even though this is just a movie. How much REAL TRUTH is there portrayed in this movie. I also think that the cast starring in this movie are some of the better to best in their fields. A not so long ago "newcomer" to the acting and movie industry, CHRISTIAN KANE, plays an important role, and what I've seen of the trailers and clips, and also what I've been told by people that have seen this movie have told me that it is a sitdown don't get up to get anything from the kitchen type movie, while the movie is on. I'm sure it will show some interesting details and learning. I also am impressed with Christian Kane. I have seen him in other movies and bit parts in made for T.V. movies and on going television broadcast series.

I've done some studies prior to watching this movie as well as reading the actual book by this author/ex-enron employee. The movie didn't do it justice. Hollywood added it's take and it was done poorly including the actors selection. It's better to read the actual book and experience Enron through his eyes/ears. It takes you through this man's 9 to 10 month work history with Enron. I find the Enron story interesting to me in all aspects of fraud research and understanding the new SOX rules being placed in today's corporate finance. Remember, it is better to ask why?

Sorry, I couldn't pay attention to the story. Christian Kane was too cute and had all my attention. Did you know he's a world class singer, too? Look him up on YouTube.

I bought this movie following reading the book. This was a movie best suited for midday free to air television.

Disappointing that it didnt follow the same plot as the book.
