From the author of The Encyclopedia of Crystals
Created: 24/08/10
For anyone who loves crystals for their beauty, their healing, or their magic The Crystal Bible by Judy Hall is a wealth of concise, easy to use information. Ms Hall has written many tomes on crystals and this one is a real gem (pun probably intended). It contains an alphabetical listing of hundreds of crystals, beautiful photos of the stones in their natural, tumbled, and faceted states for ease of identification. She also includes information on availability, location, healing and mystical properties.
The book is the perfect size to slip into a jacket pocket or a pack when you're out looking for crystals in their natural habitats and is one of my favourite research resources.

Recommended Guide for Crystal Healing
Created: 08/09/08
I think this book is fantastic. It's great for identifying crystals. It has a lot of information: pictures, descriptions, characteristics, and metaphysical attributes. There are great suggestions on how to connect with your crystals so you can take advantage of their special energy. I highly recommend this as a resource guide. I purchased this to become more knowledgeable about crystal healing so I can advise my customers how to use and care for their crystals and geodes. The only drawback is there is some new age terminology that I am not familiar with. Thankfully the author Judy Hall included a glossary for this that I'm able to reference to build up my new age vocabulary too!

Thorough. Excellent for beginners.

I believe that this book is one of the must-haves for quick referencing. As mentioned in other reviews, it is a bit oversimplified, however, with the size of the book that is to be expected. Nonetheless, the text is concise and thorough. The photographs are most helpful for the purpose of identification. It is an excellent book to have especially for those who are being introduced to crystal healing.
For each crystal the pages contain the attributes of the crystal, healing properties at each of the different levels (psychologically, mentally, emotionally), the healing properties, and best placement and position for the stones.
The pages also reference the physical attributes: color, appearance, rarity, and from which countries the stones are primarily located or mined. There are other books out there that are more detailed, but because of this book's easy referencing and the photographs and other information included, I believe that anyone doing crystal healing should have this as a part of their library.

Excellent source for begginers

I've started studying the properties of different stones and a friend of mine showed me this book. I has almost all the stones available in my area. The advantage I've seen with it is that it offers more detailed information about different colors of the same stone, it also mentions different shapes and their qualities. The Crystal Bible 2 is different and has new age stones but for begginers like me this one is a must have!

THE crystals, gems book I reach for [and use as gifts]
Created: 21/03/09
Of numerous books on gems, crystals, etc., on my shelves The Crystal Bible is the only one I have told [gift] recipients is THE reference I rely on and recommend. Its user-friendly format [and size], quality photos and concise information help me identify gems, crystals, any unique properties quickly, easily and accurately.
If a rock-hound, a holistic practitioner, a metaphysician or a budding novice one finds this a superb resource. Its artist-quality materials withstand routine use [my own still looks like new after 5 years of near-daily use]. This is the sixth gift copy I've bought/given/sent to ones truly intrigued with gems and crystals.
