Movie synopsis
The first of two spinoffs launched by the hugely popular television series CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION, CSI: MIAMI introduces a new cast of crime fighters operating from a forensics lab unit in the tropical climes of southern Florida. David Caruso (NYPD BLUE) anchors the series as tortured homicide detective Horatio Caine, who leads an investigative team that includes Southern-belle ballistics expert, Calleigh Duquesne (Emily Procter); streetsmart tough guy, Tim Speedle (Rory Cochrane); underwater recovery expert, Eric Delko (Adam Rodriguez); no-nonsense coroner, Alexx Woods (Khandi Alexander); and short-lived DNA specialist, Megan Donner (Kim Delaney, who departed after only 10 episodes). While sharing its parent show's penchant for grisly crime reenactments, the spinoff places greater emphasis on police work, rather than science, and boasts a flashier cinematographic style that befits its sunkissed and stylish Miami locale. This collection presents every episode from the series' debut season.

) I bought this DVD set a while ago because I've fallen in love with the show on syndication and wanted to see how the show began. The extra features were fantastic and it was fun seeing the science behind some of what the show glosses over. The first season is very different from what the show does now, it is a lot more science (Horatio is in the lab, even!) and you get to see where the characters came from. All in all, a purchase I am very happy with, and a show I can see myself watching certain episodes from again and again. I love the show, and love seeing where these characters came from and are going. Best moments: Throwing Heat, where you get to see Horatio's actual scientific specialties, and the special features where you get to see Calleigh's gun lab and Alexx's autopsy theatre. Worst moments: In my opinion, none!

This is an excellent show, and Season 1 is full of some of the best episodes. They are full of excitement and show a lot of the scientific side of crime scene investigation. It was also before Horatio's really lame one-liners. Rory Cochrane is great!

) I love CSI-MIAMI and bought the first season of it because I have become a die-hard fan of this show! I realized that as I went through these dvd's that I had actually seen all these shows as re-runs, except for one or two shows, from discs one and two. But I will keep these and collect the other season's because these are so worth watching! I have gotten to know the characters and become personally involved with every one of them like any good fan of any of the CSI shows! I highly recommend this seasons beginning discs- as a collector item and a great cast of friends to watch again whenever the mood hits.. and it does.

If you are a fan of CSI: Miami, this DVD Set is a must for your collection! Contains the complete first season all in one set, and the shows are good enough to watch over and over again!

CSI Miami Season 1

CSI Miami, a spin off of the highly successful CSI, offers the same great stories but with different characters and a different location. Whereas CSI mostly takes place at night, CSI Miami takes place mostly during the day. Plus, you have the beautiful Miami as a backdrop. This DVD is great for newcomers to the series as well as for veteran fans. I actually bought as a newcomer to understand the series roots. I've been watching the show since season 3. This DVD set gave me the foundation I was looking for, plus so much more. The extra featurettes concerning the development of the series was informative and entertaining. If you like CSI, I would highly recommend CSI Miami.
