Nickelback's first release
Created: 04/05/09
This is the first time I've taken the opportunity to disagree in a review with a fellow reviewer. If I were you I wouldn't listen to plickplick's review advice because it seems like he only cares for the later "more mainstream" offerings by the band Nickelback. I, instead of him find that a complete genesis of a band is simply a must to a serious collector or fan of a band. It may be true that "All The Right Reasons" may be more polished as a production, but musically "Curb" is raw and intense. Like most debut releases the band in question is 'hungry' and is looking to make its mark musically. If you wanna buy this because you expect it to be more like the mid 2000's and on then yes, you'll be disappointed, but if you want to buy this to explore the where, how and why this band came into being then your right on the money and won't be disappointed in "Curb". My only other, best analogy would be stated this way: Would you actually compare the raw, powerful, basic electric-blues statement that Led Zeppelin made with their remake of classic old-school blues standards on their debut release to say Physical Graffiti? No you wouldn't! So don't make the same mistake with Nickelback or you'll lose out on the chance to hear and enjoy something more primal and raw than your used to hearing from this band.

Nickelback Curb CD

Had to hear some of Nickelbacks' first works. It was better than I thought it would be. This CD has a very raw sound. Nickelback is the most AWESOME band EVER!!!!
Following in the footsteps...not hardly. This sounds nothing like Nirvana....you can actually understand what this band is saying. They have a sound all their own and will definitely be around a long time.

Is This Nirvana Reborn?

This is Nickelback's first album. It sounds a lot like later Nirvana stuff, and Nickelback as a band is basically grunge/ post-grunge rock. I hate to be harsh, but to me, this CD does not establish Nickelback as a band. It simply shows that they can follow in the footsteps of great bands. If you want good grunge music, then look into Nirvana. If you want good Nickelback music, get any of their other albums, especially "All The Right Reasons." But, if you are big Nickelback fan like me, you will have to have this CD to complete your collection anyways. :)

This has got to be their best album by far. I hear a harder edge to their music in this album. Definately will recommend this to any harcore Nickelback fan.
