Cutting Class (DVD, 2007)

I was surfing Ebay one day, and came across this Brad Pitt movie I was unaware of. Well, if you can stick it out through the 88 minutes of this movie, as I did, you get a gold star!

I'm sure Mr. Pitt would not like to think this movie is available, for many reasons, mainly the acting, or lack thereof. I'm sure that Roddy MacDowell and Martin Mull were somehow "drugged" because their acting so so unbelieveably bad, that Pitt looks like Academy Award material. The plot is just as bad, as are the effects, or lack thereof.

Save your money, and pass on this one, unless you are a die-hard Brad Pitt fan...and incidently, there is no skin as far as Mr. Pitt is concerned...sorry! Just the ocassional female breast.

I think "Plan 9 from Outer Space" just jumped to the SECOND worst movie slot, as "Cutting Class" just took #1!

If you're going into this movie because it's Brad Pitt's first major acting role and you're curious to see if he delivers a good performance, you'll be sorely disappointed. However, if you go into it looking for a bloody, campy slasher movie....you'll still be somewhat disappointed, but marginally less so. The acting is uniformly terrible, but in an almost compelling way, in that the characters actions seem to have little bearing on logic or human thought throughout most of the movie. The budget was clearly small as well, for most of the kills are laughably bad, the high (low?) point being when the killer hits a teacher in the head with a clearly rubber axe, and the teacher literally holds it in place against his forehead as fake blood covers his head. This movie isn't quite so bad that it becomes great as a result, but it's still terrible fun and a good way to spend an evening with friends, assuming you've already established a healthy enough relationship with them that forcing them to watch this movie won't cause them to reconsider your friendship.

This is a great film from the 80's. I have seen it so many times I finally just bought the DVD. A young Brad Pitt stars in this film about a girl being stalked by a maniac and Brad saves the day. Must see

Because I grew up in the 80's, I can appreciate the dramatic and obvious music and stereotypical plot structure of this movie. Despite all of it's usual "B movie" qualities, I find it to be one of the most enjoyable out of the hack/slash murder-mysterious genre. Plus for any Brad Pitt fan, it is a must have as well since it was his debut into movie stardom.

This is not a movie where you'll see Brad's acting prowess as this was one of his early movies. I bought it as I am collecting all Brad's movie as Brad's one of actors I like. I'd say "Seven", "Legends of the Fall" and "Spy Game" would be his best movies.
