As technology has advanced, completely new and different forms of deviant and criminal behavior have emerged. Cyberstalking is the use of information and communications technology to harass individuals. This book helps to identify what cyberstalking is, who behaves this way and what you can do to eliminate the problem entirely.
Cyberstalking can include such behaviors as signing people up for spam, impersonation, identity theft, data theft, sexual harassment, fraud, and consumer fraud. Even worse, pornographers and pedophiles have begun to use cyberstalking as a means of locating new victims.
Paul Bocij carefully delineates the boundaries of cyberstalking by providing real-life examples along with guidance for avoiding the pitfalls, as well as suggestions for what you can do if you fall victim to this behavior. You do not have to allow this behavior to continue. Harassment, be it via electronic means or physically is not acceptable and should be reported to the proper authorities. Protect yourself and your family by educating yourself with this book.
