    D-Days in the Pacific

    Created: 23/02/09
This DVD is a documentary about World War II in the Pacific, specifically the
island hopping strategy the allies-mostly US Marines and Army-used to bypass
the Japanese defenders on many islands and the assualts by sea on other islands. Use of black and white film, actually made the DVD more interesting
for me. The terrible battles of Guadacanal, Boogonville, Siapan, Iwo Jima and
others are all shown on this documentary with actual combat footage. A real
treat for WW II and history buffs and will appreciate. Five stars to this
    real life history.

    "Cannon Fodder"

    Created: 14/01/10
Could have been put together a bit better but still a decent reference set.

...and yet here's another documentary claiming to cover all the highlites of WWII in the Pacific Arena....but there's no account of the Kamikaze sortie "en-masse" that seriously damaged our Navy. Had we not dropped the bomb, the 5th Fleet would have been wiped-out by an estimated 10 to one

I don't know ~ It was purchased for my boss as a Christmas gift. I purchased it because he likes movies about this era and it was in my price range.
