Step Up: Dance Dance Revolution UNIVERSE Rocks Xbox 360
Created: 18/05/07
The 2007 edition of "Dance Dance Revolution Universe" for Microsoft's Xbox360 takes a big step upwards and onwards in dance-dance evolution with lots more rockin' tunes, higher-definition graphics, and plenty of all-new game modes.
Here's what you get:
• More than 65 new songs, including special songs and dance remixes made exclusively for the Xbox 360; licensed songs; and real-world hits -- over 100+ minutes of music!
• All-new nonstop megamixes now offer "DJ continuous mixes" of multiple songs by popular dance-music artists such as Depeche Mode; Earth, Wind & Fire; and the Sugar Hill Gang...just like a real club!
• New features and enhancements to the original DDR Series and include Challenge Mode; Edit mode; Jukebox mode; Party mode; Quest mode; Training mode; Workout mode; and even Live mode!
• How-To-Play, Trial and Super-Easy modes -- all specially created for this Xbox edition -- help first-time players and beginners get up to speed!
• Brand-New Relay mode lets you "hand off" your fancy footwork to members of the team, so you can keep the party dancing all night long!
• Xbox-enabled line online competition lets up to 4 Players compete head-to-head (and step by step) in real time; download new songs and dance steps; upload content; view Internet ranking; exchange Instant Messages/email; talk live and more!
• Coming soon, if not already available: Xbox 360 exclusive downloadable song packs!
But the DDR Universe is not perfect: Background graphics are still cheesy -- which might be OK if they were not so distracting -- and it is not yet possible to add your own music.
Published by Kunami, Dance Dance Revolution Universe for the Microsoft Xbox 360 is not yet rated but does feature suggestive themes and lyrics. Comes with its own exclusive DancePad plus the game disc and instruction book. Requires a joystick controller.
If you are a Dance Dance Revolutionary who has NoT YeT added this Microsoft Xbox 360 edition to your repertoire...then you'd best get to STePPiN'~{{;>}~!!!*

Like the title says, It's a fun game if you know what you are buying. The interface in the entire game takes some getting used to. And the "story" mode, if that's what you want to call it, is a little sketchy at times with it's unclear objectives. About the songs: There's a nice collection, not too techno heavy but there are only a few songs that people will know. But since you can find the game for a cheap price (for me it was 99 cents + 2/3 dollar shipping) it's a good find. Mine was shipped and received in a little over 48 hours :) So, if you have half-a-brain or are a fan of the series, I'd say keep an eye out for this game. 4/5

Everything you expect from the DDR line
Created: 05/03/07
Highlights:
Remixes of recognizable artists like Steppenwolf, Depeche Mode, Sugar Hill Gang, and even Earth, Wind and Fire.
Take on up to three other players lag free online (for now, once everyone gets their hands on this game who knows what will happen)
Modes: party, quest, workout, challenge, training, quest, edit, jukebox and Xbox Live
Upcoming downloadable content! download all the songs of previous Ultramix titles!
Over 100 minutes of music!
Disappointments:
Distracting backgrounds.
Still can't add your own music :/
But I already own dance pads.... Where is the adapter!
So you don't want to spend $99 on a wireless Beat pad pro?
You say you already own four dance pads? a metal pro dancing stage?
Join the club... I'll wait for the discount mats to hit ebay before I'll buy one.

Dance Dance Revolution (DDR) Universe

Highly interactive game with a wide variety of music--ranging from pure techno and club to hip-hop and classic remixes. The in-game tutorial is excellent for teaching anyone that is new to this game series.
Do not expect to learn how to "dance" in any form--this game is designed to challenge your eye-to-feet response, personal agility, and balance. The DDR series is great for burning calories (especially if you are holding additional weights, dumbells, or a curl bar while playing) and for having fun with friends. You can connect up to 3 or 4 dance mats on a single console for a great time with several competitors.
The in-game calorie counting mechanism does not appear to be incredibly accurate or useful, but the idea of having that type of logic built into the game is a nice concept. You can quickly work up a sweat while playing DDR and continue to increase the difficulty level as you improve your dance steps to each song.
In short, I highly recommend the DDR series of video games--it creates a fun atmosphere to enjoy by yourself or with several others, while working off any fast-food visits that you might have made that day ;) Enjoy!

Fun for All!

This is a great "game" for the whole family. Ok, so maybe the husbands around the world won't use it but everyone else will! It's great exercise for me and the kids like to compete with one another on who's the better dancer. You can use multiple dance mats (only one comes with the bundle) so more than one person can dance at the same time. My daughter has motor-planning issues, so the Lessons portion is a good way for her to practice before moving on to the dances. So if you'd like to see your kids get some exercise as they're watching tv and you want to practice your dance moves in the privacy of your own home, this is for your family.
