DDR reborn

This is the best DDR mix i've played on a console since DDR Extreme2! Anyone from beginner to guru should get this! The stepcharts for just about every difficulty level have been well designed (and I've played all the ps2 DDR games so I know), and for me, Expert difficulty is fun again! I've played all the easier difficulties on all the songs and I'd say it's well rounded. Some great favorites from the past return in this one as well! As far as control feel, they changed the timing window (in non tech terms, the step reaction) when you hit an arrow so it feels much more with the music and it's not hard to get perfects but not terribly easy either, feels great and one of my favorites of the ps2 DDR games. Not bad to play even with the cheap soft pads, and I can only imagine how much better it can get with pad upgrades from RedOctane like the Ignition or the metal pads such at the Cobalt Flux (I wish I had one!).

A Really Good Game!

This game has an awesome songlist that goes back to the old feel of DDR, it even included some classic songs such as Butterfly. I'm not liking the MC in this one at all though, I like to shut him off because he says some of the most retarded things (it sounds like a parent trying too hard to sound cool and failing). However, I do appreciate the MC info that you can unlock. But, I'll take the ridiculous MC in this game over the song selection for DDR Extreme. The load time seems long to me (it shortened a little after I shut off the MC). The scoring and rating system seems to grade you a little harsher in this game, it seems. The songs could just be a little more tricky.
Overall, if you can deal with waiting 3 seconds more for a screen to load and having to shut off the MC's voice, it's a really great game for old and new DDR fanatics!

Cant beat this game for the price, I know the PS2 is close to extinct but for those of you that arent Hardcore Gamers, Games like DDR arent High Graphics Intensive anyway and a great way to stay fit and have tons of fun. Anyone that likes the DDR Series would agree this is a Hit!

This is the best DDR so far . . . played it & kept playing it for hours after getting it. You will love it's new features of being able to create a workout routine & the new middle square being added as one of the moves on the game as well as over 70 song options!

Dance Dance Revolution X(Japan version)

Being one of the dedicated and huge fans of the series, I had to buy this game sooner or later, not only for myself but for my family as well! And guess what? We are playing this game again and again like there is no tomorrow! This game certainly contains some of my old favorites, such as "Butterfly(2008 X-edit)", "DUB-I-DUB(2008 X-edit)" and "Boys(2008 X-edit)" to name a few, as well as brand new songs such as "Suki*Mero", "Koko Soko" and "Always on my mind" to name a few. As far as I can tell, this game has around 80 songs, much more than English released version has and that is one of the reasons I prefer to play Japan version over English version! And to my surprise, some of the menus are in English so I have no problems at all! As for the characters, there are some of my old favorites, such as "Emi", "Alice", "Yuni" and "Baby-Lon" to name a few as well as brand new ones, such as "Zero", "Gus" and "Julio" to name a few. For the first time ever, if I am not mistaken, this game DOES have the tutorial mode along with voiced instructions! That is one of reasons I highly recommend this game to all veteran players as well as all new-comers to the series!
