Synopsis
Two brothers on opposite sides of the law battle it out on the streets of New York in this chill-inducing thriller, a follow-up to BRIMSTONE. As the previous installment came to a close, vicious dogs and armed men surrounded FBI Special Agent Aloysius Pendergast and his demise seemed certain. Nevertheless, he did leave behind a legacy: a letter for his friend, NYPD Lieutenant Vincent D'Agosta. Its contents ask D'Agosta to assume the responsibility of pursuing Pendergast's younger brother Diogenes, an insane and vengeful genius who has sworn to commit the perfect crime on January 28--which is now only one week away.

Dance of Death

Created: 07/07/08
First off, I am a big fan of Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, their books are highly entertaining and addictive reading.
That being said, this is a great book. It is book 2 of a 3 book story line concerning FBI Special Agent Pendergast and his evil brother. Pendergast is a great hero and a very, very fascinating character. Each book revels something new about him, and yet, every character in the book you care about especially those who revolve around Pendergast. Characters are carried over in several of the books, so you constantly have a connection to past books as you jump on the roller coaster ride of each new book.
Dance of Death is very good, with surprises around every corner and can not be put down. It is a thriller and leaves you hanging for the next chapter and at the end hanging for the next book in the series.
As always there are bits of history, scientific fact and literary interest as well as humor and carefully woven strands of all the novels in each book. I won't even mention the thrills and rich details. This is a good read.

Good to the last drop

The second of a trilogy that's a must to read. Brimstone, was good, but Dance of Death is even better. Yes, it was "good to the last drop" -- as that old coffee commercial said. The suspense keeps you in want of more. Pendergast is a great character. One thing I like to do is see how many times Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child uses the word "gingerly."

I like how the stories continue from all, of the authors, previous works. I am almost done with this work and I can not wait to finish, this chapter, of this great series of writings. I highly recommend these books to any
Crichton or Clancy fan.
